Car Shipping Companies

Shaughnessy Overland Express

If you are going to ship an expensive car I would recommend these guys. Only enclosed.

Went with Fisher shipping to ship an EQB here in the northeast. Thought about flying in and driving back but I think after factoring in flight cost, time spent in the EQB plus 2 charging session, the extra $300 to ship on top of all that is fine. Will report back once car arrives.

Who did you go with?

This is the one I picked. Good reviews and the price was right. The pickup was delayed a few days unexpectedly-you get what you pay for in that regard. I will say once they picked up they delivered <24 hours later and the communication was great and the truck arrived perfect. MD to NH for $645 :pinched_fingers:

I have another contact that would’ve done it for $350 but they did not get back to me for days.

Truck would’ve been in Mexico, so good thing for that

inquiring minds wonder if $350 is enough to transport it from the selling dealership to a random fast food parking lot nearby? :hamburger:

Only if they leave the keys inside and tell the broker to pound sand

once Shiply took their cut, it was $456.

The $350 shipper delivered 4 to me already and I never had an issue. Many more than that for another member here as well

Just don’t expect the “platinum level” customer service lol

I usually do everything in my power to not ship lol. Isn’t worth the stress or hassle. Too many variables and I often wouldn’t “save” much vs flying out & driving back.

IIRC one of the drivers had it tattooed on their neck

I just got introduced to a broker Liberty Road Logistics. The guy is an ex-trucker and worked so hard to find the right driver. Price was about 20% more than the cheapest shiply quotes. He worked with me to pick the driver and showed me all the driver ratings and info. The first driver showed up with an invalid license (even after getting photos ahead of time). He worked quickly to find another one. Zero dollars upfront. Car made it across the US from NY to CA in perfect condition.

He could have done it cheaper, but respected my needs. Verified each carrier, how long they have driven, driving records etc. It was a crazy easy experience.

Used Fisher Shipping recently to go from CT to NJ. Had done a ton of research and had a bit of decision paralysis. Worked with Connor who was responsive, but he was also incredibly friendly which I appreciated. He answered my questions and I am very happy.

Second this, used Fisher Shipping OH→NYC and Connor and his team were spot on. No issues.

Any updated recommendations on shippers? I need to ship from FL to NY. So far quotes on Shiply are around $750-$1k including fee.

Monarch gave me a $649 quote for open and when i asked for enclosed the said it would be the same. I pressed to confirm and they again said $649 enclosed…. yeah i doubt that. Has anyone used them?

I found a couple of old recos here and reached out. Have not heard from any of them. I am trying to get something done by the weekend and willing to pay a premium for that.

Text them Jim the broker referred you. I can only recommend i take no responsibility for them or liability. I have had clients use them many times without issue however. They are licensed and insured

I wouldn’t pick a rando off shiply to save $100. Shippers matter when there’s an issue, that’s when a reputable company proves their worth

You should 100% not proceed with this company. We’ve heard of — and had a client personally experience — vehicle theft in the past two weeks from situations exactly like this. In those cases, clients booked transport through what appeared to be legitimate companies, but the shipping brokers’ accounts had been hacked and featured numbers of the scammers. Cars were then picked up by local tow trucks, taken to obscure storage locations, and vanished shortly after.

Now more than ever, we strongly advise that you verify every quote by calling the company directly using the phone number listed on Google, not the one provided on Central Dispatch, Shiply, or any other transport website. Criminals are specifically targeting high-value vehicles, and the Leasehackr community is particularly vulnerable because of the number of cars transacted daily and how easy it is for individual buyers to miss subtle red flags.

If something seems too good to be true — it usually is.

That’s why I use brokers. Sure they’re $75-100 more but when there’s an issue they’re there to clean up the mess
