I live in AZ and work in CO. I therefore have a rental home in CO. Dealer wants me to register in CO where his dealership is located BUT I want to ultimately take the car to Arizona.
If I register in CO and then the next week (after driving it down to AZ), registering it in AZ. Will I have to pay 2 registrations? Will CO refund me in full or partial?

Tell the dealer when he buys he a car he can decide where he wants to register it, when you buy the car, you decide where it gets registered.
Did he give a reason why he wants you to register in CO?
Just have CO issue a temp tag. Temp tags length vary by county.
I think he was saying that the incentives and rebates only applied to CO residents? However, when I checked edmunds afterwards (and after this post), I noticed CO and AZ have the same incentives on this make/model… so I am thinking maybe more leg work to register outside of CO (where his team is used to doing the paperwork)?

OK - so, I can ask dealer to do this … CO will issue “temp tags” without CO registration after it sells? Thanks!
