Hey can anyone tell me why MCA is able to apparently buy out Volvo leases? They’re telling me I can just bring the car down and they’ll hand me a check basically. But I called a Volvo dealership to see if they’ll match the price and they said nobody is allowed to buy it out.
They either dont know any better or theyre pulling one of those schemes where they execute a personal buyout in your name without you knowing it and then title hop it.

They will basically ask you to sign a power of attorney, go to their Volvo dealer, buy it out in your name, and have you send the title to them.

How does this process work to someone who’s buying the vehicle out of state? Do I still need to register it in CA after receiving release of lien title after payoff? Or can I just hand them the title and that’s it?
Yes, you need to process the title transfer, etc.
You mean go to DMV register the vehicle in my name, pay the tax, and then hand them the title? What if it’s an out of state dealer?

When I recently sold my California registered vehicle to an out of state buyer, I just gave them the title and they were able to register it in their own state. However, the car had been registered in my name in California for many years. I am not sure if that made a difference. The only involvement the California DMV had was when I submitted a Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability to them.
This makes a huge difference. You had a title in your name to give.
Was it title under your name or a lien release tite?
