Calif.: Dealer rescinds lease, wants car back cuz it can't get financing approved

Mail. Here it is.

That is ridiculous and screams incompetence if they’re sending out that notice to “everybody” and acting so cavalier about it.

Bonkers, I’m assuming they get a lot of calls about this…

but OP I had assumed you already tried calling the dealer before HMF / posting here.

That’s total BS… their provider or systems screwed up and sent something out when they shouldn’t have.

Glad it worked out for you :+1: crisis averted :joy:

Then others screwed up too. Like I said above, I received the same from Jeep (I think) and MB.

Hope you enjoyed the free circus. What a bunch of clowns

My latest Audi dealer sent me a Notice of Adverse Action.

This was received 1 month after delivery and the AFS lease is fully funded. I reconfimed with AFS that my lease was fully funded.

I reached out to the SM/Finance/GM upon receipt- the SM stated to ignore it. Everyone gets that letter. Some major bug in their system.

no, the dealer wasn’t open yet when I posted (I just opened the mail last night) and I was freaking out about what to do. Then I called this morning and got the “um, never mind.”

Wow, how weird

This happened to me on a GM lease. I received a snail mail out of blue that my lease app was denied. I called GMF and the rep said the dealership had a clerical error so they had to send it back. That triggered the denial letter.

Gawd, the idea of returning the car, which I like a lot, and everything that comes with that… and the dealer is a 100 mile car drive away across the desert… I was gonna spiral!

Fucking California of course.

I’ll never ever ever live there. But I do like some of those sports teams lol

In situations like this if the deal really didn’t fund or the dealer wanted to unwind the deal for whatever the reason you would tell the dealer that the car will be parked at X address and it’s on them to come and pick it up.
