C300 Loaner Residual

Hello all,

Trying to understand MF and residual for loaners. I’m being told that residual is 56% on a 12/36 for a C300.

Are these numbers standard or based on the dealer?

My understanding is that these numbers are used for NEW. Could someone provide the standard numbers on a car with 7000 miles please.

12K/yr… Add 1% for 10K/yr
RWD: .00102 MF and 64%/58% residual for 24/36 months
AWD: .00089 MF and 65%/59% residual

(7000-3000) * .20 = $800, so subtract $800 from the residual to account for the miles.

Thanks is the rest right ?

I got quoted on 3 different c300 loaners 2 weeks ago ranging from 3500 miles to 8000 miles all we’re quoted with residual of 58% in Arizona and California as per the mf every dealer would try to mark it up

What were the terms for your residual?

Same as you 36/12…

Every time I asked for a quote they were all marking up the mf to .00152

There is an Edmunds thread that supplies this information on demand. Your numbers above look correct for Dec. As @Jon mentioned, that is reduced for existing miles. Sometimes you will see the base residual for your model/term displayed and then a residual adjustment is shown as a separate line item later on in the worksheet (as opposed to them reducing the residual by 2.2% or whatever the calculation works out to in your case ($800/MSRP) - which is easier to plug into some of the online calculators).

Do you have a worksheet? There is usually a separate line with the adjusted residual, as @cheapdad00 mentioned.

Yeah here You go

The residual was adjusted according to that worksheet. Did that demo/loaner have 8017 miles?

yes correct 8017…

Why is the money factor higher here - the dealer I spoke with gave me the exact same MF. Isn’t the base 0.00102 for RWD. Seems odd that RWD would have a higher MF and lower residual.

Also, the gross cap is 1095 over the sell price - what are these fees?

RWD and AWD have slightly different RV and MF. In theory, the 1095 delta is acquisition fee + doc fee + any other taxes/fees. 1095 is the typical marked up acquisition fee on MB leases, so makes me think the other fees are elsewhere. If you post your sheet/details, we can evaluate in more details.

Funny. The dealers lease numbers were about $30 over mine. So this crap must be included too.

Why would the drive off be so high? Must be another fee - the one they tell you about lol.
