C300 and similar cars; and taxes when leasing from out-of-state

,

Hi all,
If I live in Maryland and find a good deal in a different state, how does tax work?
Do I pay both taxes one for MD and one for where car dealer is?

No, you pay taxes in MD, but your dealer must support selling to your state, not all do.

Dealer should handle your state’s tax and DMV paperwork. Often why it’s good to lease from neighboring states since they have surely sold to residents of your state before. Plus cheaper to ship.

Even if the selling dealer does not handle the paperwork it is easy to find a tag and title shop in MD to handle it for you. You may need to get a MD inspection if out of state as well.

FYI in Maryland you pay 6% tax on the value of the vehicle even on a lease. Not on the monthly payments.

That’s a big ducking tax burden on a lease. Keep that in mind when shopping.

Hi all,
I live in MD and I was shopping for c300 last 2-3 days and noticed there’s not much shared deals on c300 on this website. Is there any specific reason for this?

They generally don’t lease well and Mercedes dealers generally don’t blowout non-EV’s.

Don’t lease well means, they’re prone to service often that other models?

A good lease deal needs a combination of 4 different variables

  1. Discount.
  2. Rebates.
  3. RV.
  4. MF.

That’s quite exceptional. And the new C300 is very much not an exception.

what’s F&I?

Finance and Insurance.
