Brokers on Leasehackr a waste of time?

, , , , ,

Absolutely! We have a Midwest dealer that can fulfill out of Chicagoland with at least two of the brands mentioned. :slightly_smiling_face:

Been on this forum for 7 years, and if it has taught me one thing, it’s that not every inquiry needs to be taken and not every person who reaches out deserves a car. Whereas OP actually worked at a dealer, where every inquiry has to at least be handled by someone in BDC, many of us are lucky to be able to pass on those inquiries we feel aren’t the best use of our time. Those of us who know what they’re doing, have a recurring book of business (i.e. not the “what is the cheapest lease special you’re running right now?” crowd), don’t need to entertain every inquiry. OP - if you’re looking for the dealership sales model and “service”, this isn’t for you.

Based on your comment re: bullets, though, I’m going to guess you were shopping for something CJDR.

Here they come, boys…

Looks like someone finally snapped from lack of transparency, highest DAS, lower miles 7500 standard.

You are way too aggressive and rude to the brokers so I know a swift hammer is coming this way!

maybe OPs inquiry to whomever he reached out to sucked and didnt warrant a reply?

With all due respect, I managed 3 stores and yes, the business model and the franchise owners set the rules of the game not me! The brokers with a good repeat book of business would not be posting on this forum, unless they had excess inventory for a specific model like the Auid eTron GT for instance. The brokers I have referred to in the post, openly ask users to send inquires for the advertised deals/vehicles.

Wrong on the CDJR! I have never owned one of these cars and probably won’t after living with a Jeep Wagoneer (rental) for 1 week in January. By the way, someone recommended you  Regardless of the business model, it is only polite/professional to sent a quick text/message. The industry is in correction and once manufacturers & dealership begin to offer pre-pandemic leases, the brokers who aren’t as lucky as yourself with a great book of business will be in trouble. Have a good weekend.

That’s not true, at all. The good brokers on this forum, with a book of business, wouldn’t bat an eyelash if this forum went away tomorrow. That said, it never hurts to get extra recurring revenue. Would we sell less? Maybe. But it wouldn’t be catastrophic. The shortage 2 years ago was probably a bigger threat, yet those of us who knew what we were doing, managed.

I’d have passed on your inquiry btw.

I’m not in need for your services so no hard feelings. I do know the folks at one of the dealership you work with in California very well. Have a good evening.

Must be California, Maryland then.

There are some brokers here that do an absolutely outstanding job and are worth their fee. There are others that are less experienced and the customer service certainly lacks. Usually you can weed out the good ones by the amount of time they’ve spent reading the site and how many posts they have. The leasehackr community by and large scrapes the bottom of the barrel so in order to have any longevity here you have to cater to that audience to some degree. Most of the brokers who have responded on this thread are very reputable, so I would tread lightly if you’d like to use their services in the future.

haha I have an axe - bring on the hammer :joy:

Link(s) to your Glassdoor reviews or it didn’t happen

Thank you for the note. I operated 3 franchises before getting out of the game. Unfortunately, my state regulations prohibited sales of new vehicles through brokers. More importantly, I never said all brokers are utterly useless, while some clearly are out of practice, there a few excellent brokers out there/in here. I’m brand new to this forum and still learning the ropes.

How is it that this thread hasn’t been locked and deleted by now? There have been threads with way less troll-ish BS that were bounced far more quickly and for far less nonsense than this one.

No purpose here other than to post junk with no value.

If I was TH…

It’s a shame you didn’t get to blow out a Polestar for this fine gentleman.

How telling that he worked in the biz and has no relationships.

Let’s say you run a McDonalds. @anon65069371 can relate.

You staff to a normal level as best you can knowing that there’s a lunch rush but lulls make it challenging to make money.

Then corporate says were discounting BigMacs to a record level. And the word is going viral. And the lines are growing and people are getting impatient. A few of them are being jerks and making it difficult for the people waiting. The people who work there are burned out and probably want another job or they’re the owner and just trying to hold it all together.

With under $100 EVs and 14% off Jeeps that’s been the situation for a number of players here. Sure they should respond that it’s going to take ____ time to get back to you and set expectations, agreed. But you’re getting a new car for less than your gym membership, chill.

I’ve had some great broker experiences, and some deals via brokers that went south. But at the end of the day I’m getting an insane deal.

This is not directed at OP, but I’ve heard countless stories of people being complete a**holes to dealers and brokers. If you want an insane deal you might have to be patient. And don’t nuke the dealer on the survey because it took too long because that will blow up future insane deals.

If you know the business, you should be able to get broker like deals with some work on your own. Certainly I’ve leased a lot of cars and most were through my own work.

The broker review section on here definitely does not reflect your experience. And when you say majority, how many exactly have you reached out to?

I would think that you would have your own contacts and not need a broker if you were just in the industry.

Always the people who have been on here for less than a year that are trolling.

This right here actually furthers the OP’s argument and gives the rest of the brokers here a bad rap
