Haven’t been on hear much in the last month or so (put a deposit down on a Tesla) but I just got an email offer from a local dealer and thought I’d share:
Don’t know the full breakdown, looks like it includes a competitive lease rebate though. Under $200/month before tax (taking into account the $2,499 down)
Excellent deal. Thanks for posting. With the CA CVRP 2.5k rebate being delayed/deferred, this puts extra pressure on Bolt dealers to clear inventory. I am hopeful we will see $99 teaser ads soon …
hard to tell without the site or entire email. every time i see that or quick stuffs, i always find some fine print that throws it back to a normal bolt lease.
Yeah it’s probably on a particular VIN and when you get there “oh that one was sold but we have others…”
They’re scrambling to get sales before model 3 unveiling tomorrow which Elon says will make orders spike. It’s already so obvious the Bolt is way overpriced and tomorrow’s event will make it that much more obvious to those who haven’t accepted that.
That is a good deal. For states with additional state rebate, such as MA 2.5k, the effective is then 152 a month which is an amazing bargain compared with what people were paying at the start of the year ($400 with 2k cap reduction + drive offs)
The Model 3 is already “sold out” till deep into next year (ie only people with existing reservations can get one). The Bolt is available right now. So I don’t think people are cross shopping the Bolt and Model 3, not until Model 3 becomes widely available in inventory, which could take 2 years.
On the contrary, I think people are cross shopping. The Bolt was intended to target the vast majority of people that wanted to go electric but couldn’t because of range limits. These people are in no rush to switch and know that when they do switch, they’ll be with that car for a while.
Once they actually see model 3 with their own eyes they will decide to hold off on the Bolt and just wait for the model 3. Because it’s a no brainer that it is the car you want to be with if you’re just now going electric.
It all starts tonight at 7:00 PM Pacific (10:00 EST), when the doors will open, with the official handover of the first 30 or so cars said to start at 8:45 local time, and remarks from CEO Elon Musk scheduled for 9:00.
======
I am sure some people queued up at 7 PM PST yesterday lol
Come on, you know Elon - he likes to put on a show. What good is a show where only 100 people attend lol???
Anyway, even the invitees would elbow each other to get as close to the stage as possible and bask in the Aura
And Elon’s aura is growing so big it will need it’s own timezone soon
It’s not open to the public. Invitees (along with 3 guests each) are mainly made up of the first 30 owners, employees and Tesla owners with at least 5 referrals.
Here are some additional details on the Buick EV crossover from the focus group discussion:
same 60 kWh battery and motor (FWD only)
roughly the same overall vehicle dimensions as Bolt EV, but 3″ more rear legroom
slightly slower acceleration: 0.4 more seconds to 60 mph
approximately $3,000 more than Bolt EV
premium and striking appearance: floating roof, aggressive LED lights
larger center touch screen – integrated tablet appearance, like Mercedes E-Class
dashboard stitching
dashboard flows into a tall center console, unlike Bolt EV’s minivan-like console
Honda/Acura-style PRNDL buttons instead of gear lever
Also of interest, the Chevrolet Bolt EV’s Orion, Michigan plant (which is currently adjusting production levels of the underachieving Chevrolet Sonic, and apparently increasing Bolt EV production), recently had produced the Buick Verano – essentially a optioned-out Chevy Cruze, but GM discontinued the car for 2018.
