BMW year-end date details?

Hi again - looking for clarity on something else too .

Just had a dealer tell me that today (Sun) is “end of year” when sales must be booked, not Tues 1/2 as i have been assuming (because of information from other dealers).

The language of various BMW offers seems to vary too. “Take delivery” seems to mean different things to different dealers. Not the first time I have run into this confusion!

Does anyone know the details of this for sure?

If the deal has to be done today to get holiday credit I guess I’ll stop looking because it ain’t happening (but not because I didn’t try).

You are confusing end of year with the incentive end date. They do not have to match.

Ahhh, so dealer’s potential reason to be generous is what ends today, if I understand your point correctly…yes?

Gezus, just talked to another dealer who said Tues 01/02 is their year end!

Some dealers want to move cars by 1/31 for tax reasons, but the official end of programs by BMWFS is 1/2/18.

Also, if you submit a credit app on bmwusa.com you can lock in the holiday incentive, residuals, & MF for 60 days on the east cost (so 1st week of March). I would do that ASAP just in case you can’t come to terms in the next 2 days.

All good info, thanks.

Is it possibly true that dealers who tend to deal are likely to accept aggressive offers just about anytime? If so then I’ll chill instead of driving myself batty right now.

just need a little time to let the car I want surface in the right place

No, timing is very important.

when’s the next good time if I cant get it done in the next 2 days?

365 days from now. :joy:

you’re very cruel :confounded:

Just submitted credit app.

Was holding off because didn’t want to specify dealer. Probably doesn’t matter at all tho

Just keep checking every month if you aren’t in a rush. Numbers/incentives change every month.
