What does lightly equipped for nclude? What’s the MSRP? Payment includes tax? What rate?

I guess that’s a nice way of saying no moonroof, no Homelink, no satellite radio, no blind spot, no navigation, no Apple CarPlay, etc., etc., and that you need to insert the key into the ignition even though it’s 2018.
At $37,945 it only has one option: heated seats and steering wheel.($36,400+$550 heated seats/steering wheel+$995 destination).
Don’t understand why somebody gets this over, say, a QX30 Sport (which has blind spot, navigation, pano roof, etc. standard) which will be way cheaper, but some people love the badge.
Yea BMW is slowly sinking deeper in the standard equipment offerings. All Toyota’s and I believe Hyundai’s have standard blind spot, lane departure, active cruise etc. BMW you need Drivers Assist package for the basics.
When you say tax included. Is it for LA county’s 9% or OC 7.75%?
They are getting there though. They have a $700 driver assistance package that’s available even on the base model. It has pre-braking and some of that stuff. Not sure about blind spot. At Mercedes I notice that many dealers that keep the stripped C300s on the lot have started ordering them with blind spot monitors, which are a cheap stand alone option.
These things are in demand and people expect them on base models now, and I’ve noticed luxury makers are starting to realize that. Infiniti did a major reshuffling of the QX30 just a few days ago and totally re-configured the equipment levels and it is considered a “2018.5” model. You used need to get the high end fully equipped models for even the most basic things like blind spot, but now pre-brake is standard across the board, and blind spot standard on most models. The re-shuffled options on the QX30S are great - just about all those safety suite features are now standard, as is a moonroof and navigation - and the price is the same, they just switched out real leather for leatherette.
The one thing that boggles the mind is that BMW still charges extra for Apple CarPlay and keyless ignition. For a point of reference, keyless ignition has been standard on the Nissan Altima since 2007! I think Benz maybe still charges for keyless too? I don’t remember.

Yeah. Benz still charges extra for keyless go. Kind of ridiculous.
I can’t believe that BMW still has models without standard HID or LED headlights. In 2018. My 2006 Volkswagen has HIDs for christ sake. Want a BMW X1 with LED headlights? That’ll be $3000 extra for the top spec model please.
At least the X2 comes standard with LEDs I think, but then they also put all that that digital dashboard crap in there.
Well, as a business, if you’ve customers lined up to pay for those “upgrades”, then why not charge? It ain’t ridiculous from Benz’s viewpoint.
Will BMW Corporate discount save another $500?
BMW is interesting in that sense in that there’s a lot of features that they don’t have standard, but almost make up for it with other standard features that most automakers don’t. For example, in 90% of their models, Memory Seating is standard. For any model with a hatch (Gran Coupes, Gran Turismos, and wagons), power liftgate is standard. These are typically extras that you’d pay for in other brands, so kind of odd why they won’t just throw heated seats in there.
Yeah I noticed that as well, which is why I was kind of surprised by the headlight thing. At least their packages aren’t as much as some other brands, there’s just a lot of them.
They’re all charging, it’s just included in MSRP. There’s no reason a base Benz, BMW etc. shouldn’t have that in every car.
