BMW lease doesn't compute in Lease Calculator

I received this offer on an X1 but it doesn’t seem to let me set my MSDs to $1750 in the Leasehackr Calculator:

Here’s a link to the calculator:

Any ideas what’s going on? Is this a good offer?

It automatically rounds up to the closest $50 increment and multiples it by the number of MSDs you selected.

The dealer is actually wrong and the calculator is right since it should be $200x7 since the payment is $199. I believe they have to manually change it so common they don’t catch it when manipulating the deal.

You should ask them to drop the acquisition fee and bump up the MF .0005 which BMW allows as it will save you more.

Seems like amazing deal: 24% off before incentives.

$47,000 car for $200, it’s a good deal.

You should ask them to drop the acquisition fee and bump up the MF .0005 which BMW allows as it will save you more.

Is there any reason they would do this? Is it any cost to them?

No… doesn’t impact them as the selling price stays the same rather just impacts BMWF but they allow it. Some dealers seem hesitant to do it, but not sure why. Maybe they are just not familiar with the option.

With the change you suggested, does the dealer make more money—at the cost of BMWF?

No… a lease is financed by BMWF… the dealer make the same since they only care about sale price (unless they are marking up the MF). BMWF makes less and you pay less but only a small number of leases would this trick make sense to do.

Where is this? In So Cal? If so could you share dealer info please?

The tags say Northern California…

BoardWalkNJ, just give me a custard pie for that slip up! Ha ha, haven’t had enough coffee!

Would still be interested in that dealership, a drive back down the coast is never a bad thing

Their software may round up the pre-MSD payment which is between $200-250.00, equating to 7 MSD of $1,750.

Either way an extra $350 parked in a safe account which you get back at the end of the lease — that’s the last thing I would worry about

I had the exact thing happen to me a few weeks back and the payment wasn’t even close to the next threshold, so some software may be manual. The deal was so good wasn’t going to complain over BMW borrowing an extra $350 from me.

Either that or they are using pre-MSD, post-tax payments to calculate it, which would probably put you over your next threshold.
