Pretty solid pull today for the I4 M50. Peaked at 203 kW on a EA 350 plug.
Does anyone have any info on incentives for a ‘23 loaner M50? Is there a portion of the 7500 incentive still available like in case with the iX?
$3,500 on loaners. Must be in service at least 6 months or 5,500 miles.
Thank you, Scott!
Had my coolant changeover valve replaced today. Total of 3 days shop time, almost all of which was spent waiting for the part to arrive. I encourage other I4 owners to get the valve changed NOW while they still have stock available.
I can’t tell you how helpful this was. Just signed my lease, and utilized this video heavily to help me get the best deal!
Congrats. Share your deal in the Signed deals section of the forum.
Back in an I4 (service loaner). But my first xDrive. Ride quality is great, but I forgot how small the I4 is.
Do a comparison DCFC with your i5
I’m gonna put this here but I’m sure most would want it in the landfill.
2025 BMW i4 EV and 4-Series Gran Coupe Get Revised Kidney Grilles (caranddriver.com)
Since spotting the difference between really ugly and slightly less ugly is hard to do without a side-by-side. Yes, they used a M-lite in the last picture, but I think the i4 will be the same but without the exhaust tips.
And, just a reminder the original i4 concept had blue framing around the grille that later became gray. Glad the LCI is finally fixing the problem.
Maybe the fake tailpipes will make exterior noise
I had to turn off the goofball sounds in the EQS and i4. I can’t believe BMW charges for the iconic sounds.
the iX needs one of these COVID-mask looking things to cover up the front end. If you look closely this Dodge is already in the landfill.
I’m SOLD! Take all of my money!
PS-just realized how old this thread is. oops. Bunny cuteness never gets old though.
What’s your average efficiency since last charge? The EPA rating is 3.22 mi/kwh and expected miles at 100% SOC is 252 so to be getting 146 miles of range at 90% would suggest you are only averaging 2.31 mi/kwh – Which is pretty terrible (like an etron).
The BMW app is also very sensitive to how you drive on your last drive, so if you went ripping around it tends to over-assume you will continue to drive like that. My IX and I5 are at all-time highs for range right now.
Lol now you sound like the Hendrick BMW dealer that “inspected” this car. They basically blamed the driver/operator for having a lead foot… and separately me for not knowing how EVs work. Everything except accept the reality this car blows.
EVs suck ass to own long term. The thing has a shit battery. I hope they just take these off the road after the lease expires instead of saddling a hard working American with a shit car in 2027. It has nothing to do with how I’m driving it, but you know BMW and all the pro-EV folks will keep blaming user error. I literally can’t drive quickly in the SF Bay area. It’s all stop and go traffic or suburban hell.
I even showed them my 3.7 to 3.9 miles per kWh as logged in the app. They don’t care. And neither should you all if you’re serious about smart money choices. BEVs suck, unless they’re on a super ultra cheap lease.
Over two months you only drove 214 miles?
Certainly not denying your reported performance is terrible, but it seems much more likely a software glitch then battery degradation. Have you requested a Cardata report (via mygarage website)? It includes readings from the BMS (eg Energy content of the high-voltage battery). Here is battery tracking data shared from i4forum;
caveat: most samples are edrive40 or M50
Problem is still when I complete a ~100 mile loop (almost all DAPP in eco pro) beginning at 100% charge, the car’s dashboard reading says I have 33% remaining (55 miles). I don’t really care what other people get in their e35, e40, M50, or rickshaw.
I was sitting here thinking leasing a brand new BMW BEV with a claimed 230 miles range was a slam dunk for my 100 mile general use case. But now I’m thinking, how low can this range drop?
