Hi, I recently leased a BMW 760 and got a total rebates of $17,500 per the contract. Based on the research I had done and in my negotiations I had $14,000 of rebates in mind including the following: $8K Lease Cash, $2K Dealer Cash and $4K Loyalty. I got this from the Edmonds tread for my TX zip code 77084
Does anyone know what maybe included in the $17.5K?
So that rebate is an additional $3.5K? Damn, sadly I didn’t get it. When I was negotiating my deal don’t think sales knew this and probably finance discovered this. So when I went to finance they added on additional Mechanical Breakdown Protection for $1K (which I think I can cancel/return - This is what triggered my investigation as the finance manager said this is for the Dual Screen and is paid for by BMW), Marked up Permaplate from $600 to $1,300 (Probably non refundable) and added some additional bs. I looked at the payment and down based on the $14K rebates and everything checked out with a total discount including rebates of $14K + $20K off of MSRP of $135K.
Does anyone you think I can cancel any of those add-ons as my lease start was 7th Nov.
Yes, you should be able to cancel within 30 days; check your paperwork for it. Also, permaplate usually also includes “windshield insurance”, so you may be able to get a refund there too. What may get sticky is that you won’t get cash back, but the refunds are instead applied to your lease end due. You’ll have to find out from your F&I person on what can be done.
You are right. I think $1K of that rebate was a Dealer Contribution portion of the Loyalty rebate. The $2.5K Rebate was specifically for previously owning the 740. That said I guess it is what it is. Will just cancel the Service Contract and call it a day. Thank you all for the insight!
