BMW 320xi Deal for friend Help

Hello hackrs… Helping out a friend on a lease… We have some good numbers right now but i know the deal can be better and the dealers math isnt adding up LOL… Can i get some opinions on this… what else they could be hiding etc…

MSRP 40020
discount 8539
PRICE 31481
rebates 3000
additional discount 1065.67
ADJ PRICE 27415.33
acq fee 925

money factor .00177
24/10
290$ before tax

clearly we are way off somewhere lol

How many miles are on it? That affects residual.

Also, check if they are adding dealer installed options…

Ahh yes… 3690 miles… Looking how to calc residual change now… thank you

Take MSRP, multiply by standard residual fraction, subtract 0.25*(mileage-500). That is residual value. Divide by MSRP to put in calculator.

thank you! calculated it to be 64% if i did correcty

Ok, only thing left is to make sure about add ins, dealer fees, title fees, etc. and verify that your taxes are correct.

Here is dealer sheet

Doc fees and registration aren’t in the calculator prob the diff

Wouldnt that be in the dealer sheet?

Ask the dealer…might be cut off in the screenshot

They are using a lower residual for some reason, only 61.8%. That seems really low if you’re trying for a 24/10.

Turns out their mileage was wrong. Car has less than 1000. Should be Even cheaper Lolol. I have no idea what these guys are trying to pull. Told them the residual is way off… They’re going to get back to us tomorrow and fed us the same blah blah come in and we will square this out etc…

Also make sure you do MSD.

Will have to speak to someone other than the salesman. Asked about MSD and salesman never heard of them and said they don’t do them Lolol. Hopefully can get them in finance

Don’t be surprised if you will have to teach them all at that place about MSD:)

Yikes… dealer said residual value on most cars 36 months is 59 and going to 24 months doesn’t change it that much … LOL what do I have to tell him to just use the correct residual. GSM might be in need to call since they can’t comprehend the simple residual value lookup

This popped up before, I’m not sure what kind of clowns these BMW stores employee as managers. When I got mine I had to ask them about 24mo too. This always makes me feel better though, if things go terrible wrong at my job I know exactly where to go for a job.

They cannot manipulate the RV so not sure their game… BMWF would reject the contract. it would be extremely unethical if they readjusted the contract to reflect the same monthly payment but increased the RV and sale price to do so.

Noticed a few people posting here that a particular dealer pushed them to towards 36, and not sure why. 24 months would be 66% before the mileage penalty which would be nominal if 1,000 miles were on the car.

No matter what, get a formal quote so you have everything in writing.

Update. Dealer agreed residual was wrong. Then came back and said the residual was right. Initial car had 700 miles, they had it “wrong” they said and it actually is the 3700 or whatever.

Still their residual adjustment is wrong. Almost 5% for a car under 4K miles is not right. I don’t know how to get them to input a correct calculation. Getting frustrating. Would go to another dealer but there isn’t many here.

They are insisting on the $310 number which is $100 off and they won’t give me everything to see. I’m pushing to get the papers so I can calculate but they are a horrible dealer… remind me to never deal with “luxury” brands ever again. Salesmen and manager think they own i8s, not just sell them

BMW will reject the lease with an incorrect residual
