BMW 320i Deals - Are they good?

My bad, you’re right!

Talked to two 2018 Gulia owners at cars and coffee, both reported several visits to the dealer. Matt Farrah drove a 2018 for the week about a month ago and had many gremlins and lots of issues with the brake by wire system. Leasing a car doesn’t make it reliable. I think they are very good driving cars, the performance is impressive and they have some special attributes but one attribute most want is reliability. Personally I like cars that don’t require regular visits to the dealership for failures and glitches. BTW I wouldn’t buy a 320i, I would hold out for the 330 or go with something else entirely. Lots of really good cars out there these days.

How does leasing a car make it reliable??

It doesn’t…but you’re covered under warranty, so if anything happens, it isn’t your problem.

Obviously we disagree. After reading around the Giulia Forums it’s clear to me that the vast majority of people have no issues. I’m rolling the dice slightly in leasing one in case you turn out to be right and it has lots of problems, but there’s just nothing remotely close in value for money for what I want so I’m willing to take that risk (on a lease). Purchasing is a larger risk as you’re essentially stuck with it if there are problems and that’d likely hammer resale value.

The great thing is that there are lots of options for cars out there these days, so everyone can pick what they’re after. At least we’re in agreement not to bother with a 320i!
