**Best lease options for luxury non-ev sedans/SUVs in the $400-600 range?**

This is ONLY one of many variable components when it comes to the lease payment.

Right, but if we’re talking about having the same cap costs as a non plug-in hybrid with the rebates, then the residual value being higher would equate to a lower payment given the MF is the same (not sure if MFs are affected). I’m new to this so I’m just trying to understand

Is it the same cap cost?

Why would the MF not be affected?

One person above said that with the plug-in hybrids, the incentives and lower demand (higher bargaining power) essentially make the cap cost about the same as a non-hybrid version.

As for MFs I would need to do research but I was assuming the MFs wouldn’t be significantly different, although that may be wrong.

Really just looking for people to weigh in on the best makes and models to lease. I understand how the lease payments are calculated.

Approx how many miles do you drive a year?

This year I drove about 6,000 miles

From experience. Was looking for GLC in October 2024.
Because of higher RV , $7500 lease cash, and 11% dealer discount, we choose 2025 GLC350e for 24 months and 12k miles a year. It was almost $100/m less. Paying $642/m with $642 DAS plus $600 broker fee. Sticker was $66k vs regular gas $55k unit.

If you’re only going to drive 30k miles in five years then ownership (lease followed by immediate purchase) on something like a Lexus PHEV will probably be your lowest annualized cost by far over consecutive leases.

I appreciate the advice! What is the reasoning behind it?

Math.

What’s the effective cost of the lease you’re looking at? X 60

Vs

MSRP - discount - Lexus lease cash - CO state rebate + acq fee + TTL … that’s roughly all your effective cost of buying within one month of leasing it… less trade value in 5 years … that’s your net cost of ownership

This can’t be overstated. New residents are surprised when their new 60k lease comes with a $1000+ first year registration.

Unless they’re refugees from CA

You could go non-luxury and get something close to it, like a Mazda CX-70. Good deals right now…

Yeah I’ve seen some decent deals for those. I care more about performance than luxury though. Been driving a German car for almost 10 years now and before that I drove a Volvo. I actually loved the s40 T5 I had but it was nothing compared to the 3-series I traded it for.

Mind sharing your lease broker info?

I leased the ix from IAC_Scott. I’m going to be leasing something in the next few months so starting to research.

Depending on your definition of luxury, a higher end grand Cherokee might fit the bill

I love my EV and I don’t hands home charging. I rely on all public charging. Works great for me.
