Itâs okay. If youâre in a very cold climate, heat pump, steering wheel and even seats donât heat up that well. Itâs 6k pounds so getting like 1.6 mil per kWh in winter right now
Car is fine for the price for most part

Imagine financing this thing for 70,000 dollars lol
Iâm not sure anyone can lodge one complaint at these prices!
For many it might be first EV. For me it wasnât so Iâm aware of shortcomings and whatâs good.
As long as you understand winter range can be 30-50% lower you wonât be disappointed
Summer range can be 300
Winter range can be 150-170
you should bring your car in for service to have someone look at it. From the ones i have delivered, iâm consistently getting 2.8-3 miles / kwh on the highway.
Iâm in NY and weather has been around 20/30s
Driving near 70 on highway is like 1.6-1.8 mile per kWh
Thatâs how most Evs are in winter. If itâs a GM profits itâs the worst end of efficiency in winter months. This is all over internet. Tesla being the most efficient, with lease range loss in winter
My Ariya is terrible in winter also lol. My Ariya lease coming up was thinking of getting ZDX because ariya range is just not great. Wanted something closer to 280-300 range.
Summer range and winter range (60-75% for most cars, best ones are 80-85 % about in winter )
Took my EQS 450 SUV on a 140 miles drive at around 40 miles/hr average speed, mostly highways in the North East, average 2.8 miles per kWh.
Totally agreed. I leased the Prologue as my first ever (experimental) EV. Range is straight away halved in NY winters. It takes 30 mins for car interior to warm up. Rest is good, driving is better than ICE cars. Makes no sense to buy these things though leasing makes for good deals for people with short commutes. Maybe after couple years when prices go lower than ICE cars and the winter range reduction problem is solved, then one might consider buying one.
Now try that at 70/75 highway speed with 0 traffic
I would assume itâs closer to 2mi per kWh
i have delivered my share of these in the past month. Highway range is 2.5-2.8 kwh driving 75-80 w seat heat and steering heat on. thereâs something wrong w your car. you should make a service appointment. my rs etron gt gets 2.8 miles / kwh in the same condition, despite a higher power output. your car has an issue.
I always let it cruise at around 70 to 75 miles per hour whenever on the highway. The DP I just shared is not even the ideal weather set up, it was rainy/snowy the entire drive and with 75% of highway driving at 70miles/hr, average temp is around 35 to 40 degrees. I donât know whatâs the situation with your vehicle, but realistically speaking I am averaging 2.5 to 3 miles/kwh on this EQS 450 SUV for the entire 2 years of ownership totaling 20k miles driven.
Okay since it doesnât hurt , what should I tell them, my range has been bad, can you inspect the battery?
I live in upstate NY and we have had several days btwn 0-10 deg. We have had others btwn 25-35 deg - Still very cold. But the batteries are much more efficient when it is 25 deg warmer than the prev day.
My experience with lyriq has been same - range is about 50-60% in winter. Obviously - same car as Zdx.
Iâm
Noticing a observable difference already between January and February temps
Yes, youâre not getting 250 miles in winter doing highway driving with these cars. Tons of online publications show zdx/prologue/lyriq among worst efficiency and they loose close to 30% of range in winter
