rolled over negative equity -10719

Do you absolutely (must have) need to get a new vehicle? IMHO - 10k neg equity is ok when getting exoctic or something in 6 figures. The question becomes - how much time does it take you to make 10k? When do you think you won’t be upside down on 17? That 915 payment gets you a nice AMG / Porsche / M3. Q7 seems like a nice car. If you need a maxium discount, search for cars with bigger discounts (infiniti, alfa, maserati). You could get 18-20% off msrp in many cases - though I’m starting to think that msrp is inflated. Good luck with your decision!

Even without the neg equity your paying $600 a month for the A4. Does not seem like a good deal. Why do you need to get out of the Q7? Seems like a bad original decision gone worse.

I agree. This is a bad deal without the negative equity, and a financially crippling one with it. Why do you need to trade in the Q7? Does it need major repairs? I would find a good mechanic and ride it out with the Q7.

I went in like 5 times to fix roof rattle its still there, fuses blown and diver-seat lumbar support replaced and my wife hates this one now!

Q7 in a terrible car at that price point.its been on dealership more than I used it

If you are truly having these types of issues, and that is the reason to sell. You should push for a lemon law buyback, No?

I send a letter to Audi North america , still no replay. its been 3 weeks now

That is unfortunate. I am not sure exactly how lemon law buybacks work, but it sounds like you have a legitimate gripe. I would contact a lawyer who specializes in these types of transactions, if you are getting no traction from Audi corporate directly.

Thanks will try that, but I dont know how it works

Find a local Lemon Law attorney

I just got a call from Audi America saying they are willing to initiate a re purchase, any one know how does this work?

I suggest following their instructions and if you’re concerned, consulting with a lawyer. Most of these repurchases have confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements that mean you can’t talk about your experience in return for them buying the car back.

Great news, now your not 10k upside down. I would reach out to one of the dealers/brokers here to look for another vehicle.

Great, where’s the fun in that?

No fun for us - lots of fun for the OP because they get to go shopping again!

You guys ruined all the fun with your good advice. Soooo close to $900/mo on an A4! OP, let us know the details of the Audi re-purchase and more info about the problems you had with the Q7. Sounds like they are standing behind their product.

On a related negative note, posts like this are why I have so many misgivings about leasing and strongly recommend people to really think about what they’re doing and ALL the math. Some people financially cripple themselves in a constant cycle of rolling debt that they cannot get out of because “I can afford the monthly payment” and “I need a new car”. I know a girl who has rolled successively larger negative equities into 3 straight 24 month leases and is now paying almost $700/mo for a Ford Escape. She keeps signing because she somehow feels entitled to drive a brand new car and believes that she needs to. Grinning and bearing a used car for a couple years a few years ago while she got her financial situation straightened out would have saved her tens of thousands of dollars long term. It’s funny how we have to sign 10,000 documents to get a mortgage and wait 3 days before closing to ‘think about it’, but you can walk in and lease a car in an hour for whatever payment or purchase price the dealer sells you on.
