Can a dealer give you a MF without doing a credit check? I just went to Jeep dealer looking at Grand Cherokee Limited X. Liked the truck but when we started discussing the deal. They wouldn’t give me a breakdown of the monthly payment. They just said its $799! I thought it was crazy they wouldn’t give me a breakdown of the monthly payment. The truck was $43K so tI walked out.
That is a great deal if you’re Z-Tier and rolling 10k in negative equity. Might as well just say “I dunno, like $1000 a month” if you’re going to fib your way to a boat payment.
You can get the base MF from Edmund’s. They could quote you with whatever. You’ll get the actual MF after your credit check and whatever finance chooses.
I wanted to test drive the truck but I like the e-mail instead of going idea. I told them multiple times I had excellent credit. Next time I’ll ask for the conditional MF. Thanks
Going to the dealer is for test drives and taking delivery of the vehicle after you’ve negotiated the deal remotely.
Also, personally I won’t email a dealer asking for numbers until I already know what they should be. If you’re asking the dealer for MF, what you’re really trying to find out is how much, if any, they’re marking it up. You can only figure this out if you already know the correct answer to the question.
Best source for mf information is the model specific lease forum on edmunds. Edmunds has access to the information from all the manufacturers/banks, so step 1 when looking at a lease should always be to head there to get mf/rv/incentives for the model/trim you’re interested in your zip code.
