So I’ve been doing some research on Ariya’s in the Denver metro area and have stumbled across something strange. Many of the cars in dealer inventory are from out of state, ie they were originally other dealers inventory. I think I’ve seen this at 3 Denver metro dealers so far. It’s easy to spot because the car will show 7 days in stock on cargurus at dealer A but 174 days in stock on the site. Throw the VIN in google and you can see what dealers the car came from. Looks like Utah and California, I feel like the manufacturer has something to do with this and not these dealers reaching out and purchasing them. We do have better incentives here so it makes sense, I’m thinking it’s a sales dog and something is up.
The car would have already been invoiced to the original dealer though. That would make it difficult for Nissan to get involved. Colorado dealers likely bought them from out-of-state dealers because they saw an opportunity to sell them

Definite possibility but it’s odd because multiple dealers involved.
I assume as you mentioned better state level incentives are available or they have some inkling the state is about to unleash some additional ev incentives, so they can basically make a buck or 2.
