how does the state sales tax get handled . example, lease a vehicle from New York and register at Virginia residence.
Sales tax is based on address of where vehicle will be stationed/garaged. So in this example tax is based on virginia.

Virginia pays tax on selling price, makes things ‘X Games Mode’, as they say.
