Anyone else in NJ waiting on perm plates with an expired NY temp tag?

Signed and picked up through PND on 8/24 from a NY dealer. I’m an NJ resident, and the dealer is handling the NJ registration. Five weeks later, still no plates.

My NY temp tag expired on 9/22. The dealer told me another 1–2 weeks and said they can’t extend the temp or issue another one.

Anyone else in NJ dealing with similar delays? How long did your plates take?

I bought a used car from CT, late July. Took NJ MVC almost 8 weeks to get my tags to the dealer. They’re definitely backed up.

It’s not the NJ DMV, it’s poor performance of the runner service used by these out of state dealers. Lots of threads about this… In one case I had to wait 180 days.
