Softish material like that can behave in ways you wouldn’t expect. Hell, I’ve almost had bikes topple just from parking on the asphalt on a hot day.
My landlord doesn’t seem to have the stomach to do that type of project at the moment and I’m not going to front the cash for him, like the guy, but not that much.
His goal was to lay brick down on the entire drive area, so whatever I do I wanted it to be purely temporary. Just need an area to park the bike.
I’ve parked bikes before on asphalt on a summer day and returned to my bike when the kickstand has dug into the ground. I think I can get a very firm and stable paver and always place a large, hard, flat surface beneath the kickstand. I used to have a little plastic puck that I would carry in the bike so that I could place it between asphalt and the kickstand. Worked every time.
I had the same issue in an apartment I used to rent where the driveway was all crushed stone and my bike never felt safe. I ended up buying 3 pieces of bluestone from Home Depot and buried them around the stone so it was nice and sturdy. A piece for each wheel and one for the kickstand.
I’m feeling the click tile solution. It’s a little on the expensive side, but it might be what I’m looking for, haha.
What do you guys think?
Just out of curiosity what kind of bike do you have? Mine was a Yamaha R6
It’s an '01 Yamaha R1.
Nice, I had an ‘03 in blue. It was my first bike and I was scared of the power the R1 had lol.
I actually dumped it doing tricks (windscreen going 50), thank god for the frame sliders
Instead of doing a whole patio, why not just plant a kickstand pad. That way it won’t sink in the gravel or dirt.
Agree with this. Former bike owner here. I don’t think you need anything under the tires. Just something to go under the side stand. Like that puck that you had or single small paver stone in the ground
Yikes now I feel less bad about my predicament
I can’t take the toilet out until thursday night. I got this broken toilet to look at and I have to pray my son doesn’t use it and leave me with a golden pond
Wrap it with Saran Wrap
It won’t be as bad as my son peeing on a closed lid.
Putty knife didn’t work, I don’t even know if it is glue or the floor faded. I tried goof off and scrapper, nothing works. It’s a one piece Swiss Madison toilet with a Coco bidet. I have a new fancy throne, I am installing that one this weekend when I redo the floors. https://www.costco.com/bio-bidet-prodigy-smart-toilet-bidet-system.product.100512268.html
Well, if it’s leveled with the floor and you can’t scrape it off, then cover it with a sharpie
Might have to, good call.
Do you have two Minis or is that the default car in that software?
I can build a shed. I can pour concrete. I can run electrical and tap into the main. But damn, do I hate plumbing with a passion.
Even worse when they take a dump when you tell them the toilet is broken. I was also installing the toilet and someone took a number 2. That smell nearly killed me.
