It’s not just decreasing value, the lease payment itself is atrocious due to bad leasing programs at the time. Take out a calculator and see how you’d compare buying the car outright.
Additionally there’s market value and this vehicle is just not getting sold for that MSRP because ppl are not paying it so you overpaid
To be fair I don’t recall any noteworthy examples of deals on the AMG variant at the time so it may just not have been it’s time yet however OP did pay over market at least in the rate markup to the tune of about 11K.
