Am I missing anything here? Jeep Grand Cherokee Lease

Here are two comparison offers for the same vehicle. 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit lease. One includes my trade in (which has a bit of negative equity) and the other one which doesn’t. The monthly payments are actually lower on the deal with my trade in with negative equity? Anything I’m missing here? Does this look like a decent deal? This is in Austin, TX

CCAP is doing Texas Tax credits through Sept 5th on these. Tell the dealer you want them to run this through ccap with tax credits.

They’re not itemizing out the incentives, so it isn’t clear what discount is actually being offered.

With a $695 acq fee, this looks like an ally lease with idl cash being applied, making it have next to no discount applied.

If you leased a 4xe instead you would also qualify for another $7500 credit.

Any trim above a Limited leases horribly from what I remember.

This is the trifecta of what makes a bad lease:

  1. Choosing a model & trim with bad lease programs.

  2. Roll in negative equity.

  3. No levers such as MSD and terribly high tax burden.

The discount changes by $4,000

Addressing your trifecta:

  1. I’m downgrading significantly here from a $115,000 range rover sport so, if I’m going to downgrade to a GC, I want the luxuries associated with a higher end trim

  2. I don’t see how rolling in negative equity is actually hurting me here given my payments are actually lower on the proposal with the trade in. (I realized they increased the discount to make that happen). Please correct me if I’m wrong.

  3. Understood about no MSD and nothing I can do about the taxes living in Texas

Are you choosing the GC because you really like it or just because of the perceived value of a lower MSRP vehicle compared to a RR Sport?

There could be some luxury options now that will give you better value for your leasing dollar.

Because youre paying rent charge and tax on your negative equity…

And based on the varying discount amounts, theyre playing hide the sausage with the actual values.
