Does anyone know if the Ally Financial Payout figure seen on there website includes tax or not?
Vroom is offering $1500 over the buyout price. Obviously, if it includes tax then worth it if not then not.

My experience w Ally payoffs has been an absolute crapshoot and it has made no sense.
Every phone call has been a different $number.
Every time I clicked accept and Vroom sent me the electronic verification, the number was also different.
No rhyme or reason in my experience.
Ally has 3 different payoffs
And they definitely change often.
They literally make 0 sense in my experiences 
Ally charges more for 3rd Party dealers to buy your vehicle. I am dealing with this now. Ally is charging Vroom 2,300 more to buy my truck rather my dealership buying it.
I bet if you call tomorrow, different numbers too.

well, i actually meant that i would buy it out because from former posts it seems difficult to do a 3P buyout.
the buyout figure is on their website and it hasn’t changed the last several times i have logged in. i was just wondering if this includes the tax or not.

The buyout price does not cover taxes and fees charged by the state and or local government.
Ally’s website states:
- Check your lease agreement for your specific terms and the purchase option price you’ll need to pay to buy the vehicle
- Call us to let us know you’ve decided to buy it, and remember to schedule an appointment with your dealer to finalize your purchase
- Pay the purchase option price plus any applicable taxes, fees and other unpaid amounts
i see, tax will put me $1k underwater.

I sent the exact amount seen on their site as the payoff and they claimed…weeks after cashing it…that they have no idea where I came up with that price from? Calling them is pure entertainment as far as how many stupid people there really are in the world.
You would also have to confirm you can buy it out directly from Ally. They told me for Wisconsin that they don’t have a dealer license so I would have to work through a dealer to buy it out, which I’m not doing. I know I saw another post with someone that said same thing and they were in florida.
Just for the record. I called Ally 3 times for a dealer payoff for a customer who was trying to trade in a lease to us.
And I got 3 different amounts with a difference of almost $4,000.
So we told the customer thanks but no thanks. Either the customer was going to get screwed or we were.
