What’s everyone seeing for discounts on aged (B VIN) Stelvio’s? I’ve cast a wide net using CarGuru’s on Stelvio’s sitting on website 275+ days up here in Boston area - at least 75 units come up using that criteria. 15% seems pretty standard. I’m thinking 18-20% PLUS rebate ($3250) w/ MF (.00018) and RV (59%). Seem reasonable or shoot higher?
It truly varies. Some dealers are willing to go deep (18-20%). You should also shoot for using Ally this month as I believe the rates are better (Stelvio Sport is .000183 (.44%) and 61% for 24/10 and Ti is same residual but .0000916 (.22%)).
I think 19-20% is perfectly reasonable, especially on cars with an MSRP less than 50k.

A few of my own but would appreciate additional eyes.
One, horrible dealer discount. 10% on a sub-50K that has been on the lot for 285 days and counting.
Two, looks like MF (.00011) and RV (47%) are in line with a 36/15K lease.
Three, I was aware of the $3250 incentive but not the additional $1975 customer cash.
Four, doc fee of $499. Is that standard Alfa or marked up?
Five, DAS although I asked for breakdown I’m assuming it’s 1st month, acquisition and MA RMV - though still seems out of whack.
Six, any idea what is the Total Cap Reduction of $3249.70? I was clear no cap reduction but it doesn’t appear to be part of the “due on delivery” number.
I plan to go back and ask for:
- a more healthly discount based on age of car PLUS incentives;
- look at a 24/15K lease which should be .00018 MF and 59% RV.
- better breakdown of DAS

If 15% is standard, why even consider this offer? Also, $1975 customer cash is just that and not a rebate.
The customer cash is literally your down payment.
Bad discount is the worst.

how does one determine if a car falls into this b-vin category?
is the B in “B-vin” found in the 6th digit counting from the end?
(i.e. in OP’s car the fill vin is ZASFAKPNXJ7B93438, so “B” is the 6th digit from the end - see his post above, or screenshot that i tried to paste into my post below)
or is there another way to determine this, apart from searching aged ibventory on cargurus?

Correct. And the higher the number after the B the newer the unit. For the deepest discounts you want a B6 or B7 VIN. At least as I understand it.

Aged units also depend on when the dealer actually took delivery of the vehicle. Not just the manufacture date. This is what I was told from a dealer. Not sure if true…
That’s a helpful detail too. Not something I heard, but totally believable.
I tried to call his bluff but the car has only been on car gurus for 90 days. So I think he was being honest. So going forward I don’t think all B vins are going to qualify immediately
This is like an SAT/LSAT question. I think we can deduce that:
(1) For now, it’s likely that only B vins qualify - not C vins.
(2) Not all B VINs will qualify and it depends on date produced plus when it entered inventory from the port.
I attacked it by going on carguru.com, doing a 50 mile search from my location and then focusing on those that have been listed for sale 200+ days…vast majority of those are B6, 7, 8 VIN’s. And yet the biggest discount I’ve been able to negotiate is 10-12% PLUS incentives. NE dealers love to hold their inventory.
