Assuming the $2k down is for drive offs not cash you are putting down to reduce the payment? Discount feels low but Mini have never struck me as a great deal. Also, are you looking for a 24 month lease or did the residual drop by comparison?
Yes, they quoted that the first 2000$ goes towards:
$925 bank fee
$496.36 ref fees
$ for 1st payment
I’m looking at a 24 month deal because I can’t be sure I won’t be transferred overseas for my job. Otherwise I’d go for a 36 month lease…I heard that breaking a lease is really hard and can be expensive so I’d be better off getting a 24 month lease, right?
Not to sidetrack from the Mini but given your circumstances maybe you should look into assuming someone else’s lease? If you check out swap-a-lease you can find many cars with 24 months or so left on their term and in some cases for a lower monthly payment, plus you don’t have to pay all of those fees.
Otherwise as Jon said, you’re paying a high monthly for this car based on the low discount and shorter lease term so if you aren’t locked in on a Mini you may want to look at other brands.
MINIs really don’t discount well, but it is possible if you have several dealers nearby to pit against each other. At least you are getting the buy rate on the MF.
We just did a 2017 MINI Countryman Cooper S
MSRP: $39575
Negotiated price: $34575
Loyalty: $500
For 10k/36 months, it is $399 including tax, with 1st month payment and plates/registration out the door.
Lurker and first time poster here. My wife and I just moved to the suburbs from Manhattan and need a second car. We stumbled upon a Mini dealer that leases out demos. We got the below deal and wanted to get the groups take:
