2025 GLC Loaner. Overpainted sensor. Lease

Hello everyone

Today we were trying to take lease delivery of former GLC300 loaner.

At the time of inspection, we found two issues.

  1. chip on the tail lamp.
  2. Overpainted sensor.

Dealer agreed to replace the lamp so we signed the contract, and we got the loaner until this will be fixed.

I am not sure if i should also ask to replace the overpainted sensor.

The repair/paint work is done right around it but this overpainted sensor bothers me.

Will we have any issues during the lease return?

I appreciate any advise.

Why risk it at lease return?

Make the dealer fix it to your satisfaction now, and make sure everything gets documented regarding the repair in the delivery documents so you don’t have to worry about it later.

Thank you for your feedback.

What kind of documentation should i request?

First time dealing with that kind of situation.

TIA.

There is typically nothing a dealer can give you now, documentation or otherwise, that will matter at lease end. It’s either fixed now up to spec or it isn’t.

But it’s hard to tell from the photo how bad (or not bad) the overspray is on the sensors. If it’s bothering you point it out to the dealer and see if it’s something their detail guys can maybe take a look at.

Thank you for your valuable opinion.

This car is a family member.

It looks like it was a scarf, and they painted part of the front end . The job looks good, and we do not mind but nobody covered the sensor to avoid painting black rubber gasket around it.

I will ask to remove the paint or replace it.

We shall see.

The dealer told me they will fix that. :crossed_fingers:

Thank you All for your valuable feedback.

Happy Thanksgiving
