An X5 M would probably not move at this price on this forum (we are all deal hunters) so you need to throw in a significant incentive. You’d probably have a much better chance finding someone interested at SAL closer to your current price point…

As a reasonability check, ask yourself what someone could lease a new one for today. Looking at broker offerings, appears to be south of $1,100/mo., but I didn’t spend much time putting things on-level. Maybe you can find someone looking for a shorter term deal.

Yes short thing deal yeah. But also taxes, fees blah blah will bump that number from 1100$ to 1200$ at least

Probably. Nobody is talking ever about getting robbed out of the pocket. My deal is 0 out of the pocket.

$1100 was 1st only DAS, but OK assume $1200.

So $1200/mo brand new for 39 mos and I pick options/colors or $1228 used for 20 mos???

Now it is 19 months. And I will cover one month for them. Someone might not want to keep same car for 36-39 months. Great opportunity for someone who wants to drive a car for year and a half and then easily get into something new.

Up, 18 months remaining. Excellent opportunity for short term lease takeover

1228 plus tax is alot man you can get a loaded m60 for cheaper

No taxes here. That price is including VA taxes which is one of the few states that charge taxes for full vehicle price

You really need to figure out what a pre tax payment is. Maybe call bmw financial services and see because you’re pricing this at 1228/mo.

could be a decent deal if it’s closer to 1000 effective, since it’s got the right options.

Yes I think that’s exactly what it is… I need to figure it out. Maybe this expert in VA taxes can assist @Ursus

The amount of tax is on your contract.

How would it be $228/mo less even if the new lessee somehow managed to get a refund on sales tax?

I think he meant if OP offered an incentive to bring it closer to $1k per month, not a refund on sales tax

@ursus I’m just saying we gotta really see the numbers. I paid tax upfront on my car and I pay 975.08/mo but my car doesn’t have executive or DA pro. This was with 9% off and a deal through next level. I would assume once the real numbers are in the car may be a good option

Not sure what you are trying to figure out here. Assuming 9% off and no other rebates, he paid $3,200 sales tax, which lowers payments by around $90/month over 36 months if he had paid it upfront. Nowhere close to $1k/mo

Not an expert in taxes but i think OP is limited to VA or any full sales tax lease state to keep the same monthly. If i will take in NY i need to pay almost 9% tax on the top of OP current payment.

My understanding (as someone from VA) is that the taxes are earned at lease inception. So in the eyes of VA, the entire tax portion is due whether you choose to pay it up front or amortize it over the monthly payments.

If you transfer to another state like FL where taxes are just on the monthly, you wouldn’t get double taxed, but you would continue to pay the contracted monthly rate.

With that said, OP needs to get the damage repaired before trying to transfer this out. No one will want to commit to the transfer on this forum without that being done, especially at this payment.
