Just stay away from the Federales
Enforcement is actually pretty lax outside of towns particularly on any road where you can actually get up to those speeds without risking suspension damage. – And even then it’s the speed bumps you really need to watch out for.

There is one of those every 300 ft or so going from Cancun to Playa del Carmen. And the most amusing part there are different police agencies checkpoints spaced out just as close where they literally can see each other but don’t talk to each other.
