Can you explain more? I am not up to date on all the shorthand used here.
The IRA Bill for Electric Vehicles modifies two parts of the $7500 rebate, called 30D and 45W, 30D is for personal people like myself who will buy a car. This is the section most quoted by most newspapers when someone says āHyundai loses $7500ā rebate. But a little known section called 45W says Any Business who buys a car can claim $7500 on a carā¦any car with no restrictions. This means when you Lease a car, a business is buying the car and āleasing itā to you. Hence the $7500 is paid by the government and some leasing companies pass that savings to the consumer in some form.
As a side note, please be aware that a M3 or X cannot be āturned in earlyā as their leasing contracts are drawn up as ārentalā contracts, where an S or Y can be turned in or sold off for equity.
I have a Y⦠donāt really like it, tech is great but ride is harsh (I know, subjective but Iāve compared it to all my other vehicles) and I miss having a driver display and physical controls.
Iām working on replacing it and Iām looking at:
Volvo C4/XC40 (great leases right now)
MBZ EQB
VW ID.4 (2023 trim with 360 camera)
Audi Q4
I also really like the Ioniq 5, but leases arenāt really great on those. I really wanted an MME but also no great leasing options.
My issue is Iām a bigger person⦠so some of these feel really small to me. Maybe I can wait for the EV9.
I really donāt recommend the Y to any of my friends/relatives anymore⦠the best thing is the charging efficiency and Supercharging network.
The EQE SUV would be a good candidate for you.
I canāt get the numbers to work out for it at all. I am trying to get a payment around $550 if possible for 36 months and 15K miles. I come nowhere close to that.
No, you wonāt get there for 550. You have to look at 24 months / 7.5k miles and separately calculate excess mileage at .25. Even then, your effective monthly will likely be no lower than 650. Your only option at that price point is the Hyundai Niro or the Volvo C40, but those are subcompacts. Or you can look into one of the PHEV Jeeps that @Clutch is advertising.
I am looking to lease an EV SUV for 36 months with 15K miles. I also donāt want to put any money down except the first payment. I have been looking at the EV6, Niro EV, and Model Y. Those 3 seem to be the ones I can get the closest to that price point. I like the Ionic 5 also but it seems too expensive right now.
I currently have a 2022 Niro EV EX lease for 36 months and 15K miles and the payment is only $319. There was over $10K lease cash when I did that. What is a common lease price range for a EV6 Wind, GT-Line, and Model Y with 15K miles and 36 months? Is there a chart or something online that would show this?
This isnāt going to happen with a model Y
Here in FL, an absolutely completely base model, standard range model y with no options, costs about $800/mo with $1500 DAS for a 36/15
They will all be more than 550 with 0 DAS and 15k miles. Do your homework, but pricing has changed.
I just hate the idea of putting money down on a lease. I might have to though if I get a model y. I am thinking in VA if I put the $4500 down from the tesla calculator my payment will be around $600. Not sure though since it is $588 with 36 months and 15K miles but it doesnāt include tax and fees
Itās still money coming out of your pocket. Donāt trick yourself into thinking that putting a big chunk of money down is some how making the lease substantially cheaper. You donāt save that much on rent charge.
If itās too expensive with no money down, itās too expensive.
Yeah, that is why I hate the idea of money down.
Iād think a 23 Niro is probably going to be the closest to your price point.
Thatās really disappointing
the new niros are pretty nice
Welcome to the car world post Covid. Enjoy higher car prices, higher interest rates, low inventory, and little to no incentives.
I donāt like this world
Seems looking at other threads here trying to get a 36 month 15K mile lease is not popular at all. I can barely stay at 15K now on my leases lol.
