2023 Subaru Outback Limited Lease deal check

I’ve got a 2020 Outback Limited that I’ve extended the lease with Subaru - mo to mo. They gave me this offer since the car selection situation is shite.

I have until August to keep this lease at my current rate and can end it at any time.

I got a pretty good deal on this current one @ $370 / mo with my trade of my Forester lease when I signed in 2020. This is the latest offer from the place I got the 2020 Outback from:

2023 Subaru Outback Limited
Trade-In: 2020 Subaru Outback, SUV
Payoff: $20,653

Total Trade Allowance: $25,000
Total Trade Adjustments: $0
Net Trade Allowance: $25,000

Lease (Monthly)
36 Mo
0.00222 MF
$0 down: $442
$1,000 down: $412
$2,000 down: $382

Lease Term / Miles Per Year 36 Months / 10,000

MSRP/Retail $39,354.00
Total Savings + Rebates $1,000.00
Selling Price $38,354.00
Trade Difference $13,354.00
Delivering & Handling Fee $299.00
Total Payment $442.23

Why would you give up $4500 of equity and pay $72 a month more to trade early? Drive this thing until June and re-evaluate.

Great job of listing the details. As for taking the deal, I would follow @jeisensc 's advice unless you have money that you want to burn. I know that’s not the most fun answer but likely the most logical.

Thank you! I think I will.

Since I’m an idiot the $4500 in equity is based on the payoff amount of the 2020 outback vs the trade allowance of $25k? I’m confused on that.

  • Trade Allowance = What they are giving you.
  • Trade Difference = Selling Price - Allowance.

Note they don’t show the $20k applied properly, it’s designed to confuse you.

Just wait for the hopefully better deals than paying MSRP.
