2023 Kia Sorento or Telluride: Arm me with the tools I need

,

Kia corp no
That specific Kia dealer yes.

I also figured there would be a push for unloading the ‘23. Well, I’ll likely send an email to the sales manager with my desired terms and if they don’t comply, on to the next.
Thanks for everyone’s help here.

Be open and leave some room for negotiation tho!

Have you secured anything yet, being in the same boat. I am also in DFW, have you found anything with tax credits?

Seems like this got lost in the milieu… paying 6.25% of a vehicle’s price every 3 years is such a financially destructive move.

I don’t quite understand how you have $5k in equity based on these numbers though…

What type of car seats are you working with now? Both rear facing? As others have said, kids arent in car seats forever… once you go front facing, theres a lot more room to work with, and then once they go booster, even more. You aren’t particularly tall at 6’0", so unless you are driving around like a G with your seat all the way back, I can’t imagine you having that much issue with space (I am 6’3" and have a Palisade, as well as had a XC60 for reference)

I think you definitely need to find a way out of that GV80 payment, but you may need to re-evaluate your options in a vehicle if you need to be in the 500/month range. Maybe look at a Traverse, as it is a huge vehicle and a redesign is coming out, so a deal may be able to be had.

Given that this is a payment situation, I would look at a mid level, hopefully highly discounted Pathfinder.

Another potential option is ordering a Jeep GCL with affiliate discount but not sure if the interior room would be sufficient.

Another option is to consider used. From there you have a whole lot more options.

Is a Sorento even big enough?

Did you test the car seat in it? Telluride is one thing, Sorento doesn’t seem like it would have appreciably more rear seat room than a GV80.

Sorento only has captain’s chairs 2nd row…I think, haha. (Looks like lower trims have bench)

First couple trims of the Sorento base engine have second row bench. Turbo, hybrid and PHEV all have captains chairs.

Yeah, thing is it seems the base Kias have small dog engines tho…

Symptoms of an industry-wide issue: higher trims, often the only way to get the more desirable options including powertrains, come with only captains chairs.

IDK who ordained that higher-budget shoppers all want captains chairs.

Limited upscale bench options are the bane of my existence with three kids who beg to sit together.

CX-90 is captains only above the base trim. FYI, the proximity key also doesn’t work on the rear doors in any trim! Such a stupid mistake on Mazda’s part and a complete dealbreaker with a baby/toddler in your arms (at this price point).

Someone to correct me if I am wrong, the used 22 GV80 effective cost is $76,144 in total installment and cash down?
