2023 Jeep Compass or Wrangler 4xe for Kid - Expected MSRP Discounts?

,

Lmao I looked at a compass briefly but the reviews were so horrible I immediately dropped it. Mostly I would advise you to do the same. For less money than what they quoted you, you can lease a base Grand Cherokee 4xe (broker quoted me $515 a month with $515 DAS). Honestly probably better off just buying a used Cherokee for like 10k-20k as well, they’re pretty easy to find. And I think some Mazdas will run you around 400 a month too.

That’s a minimum 7 years before they can start paying for their own car. Just making sure you’ve consciously decided to pay for at least 3 consecutive leases. That’s at least $50,000.

Plus pricey insurance, gas etc. I see FL so weather decent mostly. Does pro student really need a full time car? What about a combo of a bike and Uber or use Zipcar?

We just financed a Compass on Thursday in Indiana.

4.6% off MSRP.
$4,000 total cash allowance from Jeep. (That offer appears good on all trims except Sport)
$500 Stellantis Bonus Cash through AMEX.

I was in the same boat as a few have mentioned about the Compass and it’s reviews. But with the upgrade for 2023 to the 2.0 turbo + AWD standard in all trims, felt better pulling the trigger.

EDIT: The Latitude trim w/o add-on packages would probably be your best option.

Some eye opening inventory numbers in that article.

More like eye-closing (as in I don’t want to know) numbers.

I made a joke but the question of why a Compass was asked earnestly.

The exact Compass model we’re looking at. The car serves the purpose for the moment - not my dream car by any stretch.

For a 22 year old female who barely drives (other than coming home - 3 hours) leaves half full Starbucks cups in the car in addition to toting around her filthy dog - something I don’t care about. At this price point, there is no dream car.

Yes. While they don’t drive often they need for work, coming home (3 hours - FL is a big state).

Could rent a car to get home occasionally but it sounds like you are set on spending $ on something…as stated above it may be worst time in history to lease most vehicles because the programs suck with high MF and low RVs even if you can find a decent discount off list. Used car market appears to be adjusting downward tho so I’d spend more time on that…maybe something you can afford to write a check for since most money rates for vehicles are high these days too. At least investigate financing a vehicle you can get a decent discount on.

Buying her a Toyota is the best answer.

We all get you just need something cheap. We are not trying to be difficult we just haven’t heard an answer on why a compass. We’re trying to help by steering you to similar vehicles with better lease programs but you don’t seem up to it.

Cheap (well I thought so), easy, dealership is convenient, I own Jeep GC, etc. Being in FL is 50%+ the problem.

Essentially, all mainstream new cars can satisfy your requirement, so I will just get the cheapest lease, Nissan or Kia/Hyundai.

I spent 8 years in college+graduate school. Most classmates drove used toyota/honda sedans. You can sell them at the same price you purchased a few years ago. This may be the best choice.

The residual is just one of the 3 elements to the lease, Yes 50% is bad. Others have given all good sugestions.
It sounds like the used route isn’t good for you.
Leaseing overall from the financial aspect is horrible now but if you feel you can handle 6 yrs of leaseing then go for it .
If all comparable vehicles in your class price the same why not get the most reliable/best vehicle, i.e if you can lease or purchase a Honda for the same price as a Chevy why even think about chevy.
Ok, since you are in FL there is absolutely no need for an AWD vehicle this will save you from $1500-$3000 in purchase or lease price. Concentrate on FWD suv to house that filthy dog.
You have zero need for heated seats, heated steering wheel and Sunroof. So that eliminates mid to upper level trims. A base model will do
I would look for an LE trim Rav4 or corolla cross.
Any Base Asian will do Honda, Mazda Hyundai
Also are you in Northern Fl or is your Daughter in Northern FL? you may want to buy where your daughter/vehicle spends the most amount of time.
I do not knoew the answer to this as I am not familiar with FL rules, since the Dealer Doc fees are bad can you buy out of state to save the $1,xxx.00 in dealer fees.
Lastly if the jeep is your vehicle check some of the posts in 4XE deals, lots of FL residents bought in GA for great deals.

I am going to retract the Rav4 from your list as it looks like inventory is thin and Toyots S/E makes you pay $699 for the 2 yr maintence package plus a bunch of other non necessary add ons. Maybe the lowere priced Cross is model.
For complete value and no frills basic transportation look at the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Venue. These are cheap suv like vehicles (again suv should house the filty dog, and they may be plastic and clean up better)

You’ll probably regret the money wasted on 9+ years of consecutive leases. My physician friends who are buying their first nice cars now were in your daughter’s shoes (entering med school) in 2010 or 2011. That’s how long it takes, and that’s assuming they start working right away after residency. The ones doing fellowships still have the same cars they had in med school.

Love living in FL, leasing cars here is another issue. A 36/10 deal on a Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe. MF on deal sheet, seems high relative to what I see here.
