Hi, first time buying an SUV and looking for one with a decent 3rd row and we narrowed it down to these two options - Q7 Premium and XC90 B6 Plus.
Q7 Premium:
MSRP: 64,900.
Sales Price: 65k
XC90 B6 Plus:
MSRP: 65,800
Sales price:65k
Decided to buy option. Is this a fair price? With almost similar features and same price, unable to choose between these two, any suggestion on which might be better option?
Pretty new to this SUV shopping and unfortunately don’t have much time as my current sedan leasing is end in few weeks. How low I can go for OTD price? Any suggestions?
Make offers to a large number of dealers. You might not necessarily be able to replicate the same discount but make offers and see if anyone bites or comes close.
I have the xc90 now and considered the Q7. Most likely i will be getting another Volvo. Pricing aside, I just came back from a 2500 mile road trip and the car was solid in many ways. Now, the V4 engine (it’s really an I4) is fine, I would love the V6 but it is what it is and I never had a problem going from 70 to 90 and there was always plenty of power. Unfortunately both cars are overdue for a refresh and whichever you get will be old in 2 years. I am also considering the T8 engine since there is a $7500 credit still available which makes this an interesting option.
I would get the Audi V6. Also, there is no V4. It is an in-line 4.
The 3rd row in the Q7 is a joke. The XC90 is only marginally better. If the third row is of reasonable importance, then look at a Honda Pilot or Hyundai/Kia Palisade/Telluride.
I wouldn’t buy any of these. Lease them. Do a 2-3 year lease. I’ve been content with my previous '21 XC90 T6 and now '23 XC90 B6. I sure hope in 2 years or so Volvo will continue to make new XC90 not just EX90. Engine performance is fine to me. Smooth and good. I’ve never once wished I had a V6 or so. 3rd row on XC90 is better. Overall more space to me when I looked at both of these SUV’s in '21.
If you’re considering Volvo, check with Volvo Cars Tacoma; when I leased an XC60 in late 2020, they were way way cheaper than Volvo Bellevue. Volvo Tacoma was also the only dealer (across brands), willing to send over a super detailed quote electronically after a phone chat.
