Coming off of my 2018 QX60 lease in September and I asked the dealer about '22 QX60 numbers. When he sent me the following, I wasn’t sure if I should laugh or cry! The numbers look so ridiculous (compare to my 2018 QX 60 lease of $402/mo with no down payment). I understand the car is so new and the market is dealing with inventory issues but the numbers scream I should just close out my lease and wait for market to normalize.
Is it just my dealer or having a reasonable '22 QX60 lease this year a pipe dream?
Yup, 15K on my car as well and negotiated buy out looks pretty sweet when looking at the crazy used or new prices out there. I might as well buy it and enjoy the car until market stabilizes, and prices come down a bit. I’m afraid they have tasted the blood and the prices will stay elevated for quite some time.
I got similar estimated numbers from a dealer and burst out laughing. Over $1000/month effective for a QX60? Infiniti needs to start winding down operations already, I don’t know anyone who would pay this. Same boat, I pay $350/month all in for a 2018 loaded QX60, fine with that as this truck doesn’t even have features my Toyota work car has. No excuse for a QX60 to cost this much, if that’s your budget you can get into a much better truck. I just had infiniti extend my lease another 2 months, I tried not to laugh when I told the rep we were interested in the 2022, she said the max she could do was until November as the new trucks should be hitting dealer lots in October. Infiniti is toast, they are worth it for a low price but not this. This might be the only vehicle right now without any equity in this market.
I can confirm this is Infiniti USA’s launch strategy, final incentive plan TBA early September including RV/MF. Lease and retail loyalty will be $1,000.
Agree. For a $1000/mo. lease, I can be driving a much nicer SUV without a third raw. LandRover, Lavante, F-Pace, others I can name… I can’t justify paying this much for Infiniti. Infiniti can find others who are willing to pay that much. I’m already a customer they lost!
Yup, that is their strategy alright! Except, it prices them out of my consideration. Good luck to them and other brands taking advantage of the market conditions. Karma always works its ways.
how is it karma when someone is charging MSRP for their product and not giving it away? literally the only reason you currently have a qx60 is price. it just happened to be cheaper than the MDX and probably the highlander or something. you have zero brand loyalty to infiniti - nobody does. it’s a brand for payment shoppers. this has zero to do with karma.
As someone that works exclusively for Infiniti…I’m not sure what corporate’s logic is, but we are losing a lot of our lease market share / payment shoppers, fast.
Management at my store and other Infiniti stores want to profit, especially since profit wasn’t in Infiniti’s vocabulary for the past few years…
15%-20+% off of cars with .0000X money factors was a great way to get people into the brand; but now we’re in a situation where we have less product, aged product, and asking for more. Infiniti is pulling back incentives incredibly AND dealers are trying to hold gross…resulting in payments that are $100s higher than what customers are paying currently…for the same car + Carplay.
I’m not referring to MSRP. I’m referring to predatory pricing where I was told by a dealer we’re going to charge $4k market adjustment and you don’t have a choice. Now that’s taking advantage of the situation because you can (not referring to you as a person, referring to industry practice that is going around at this time).
You absolutely have a choice. Don’t like the price, go get a different car.
It’s a brand new car coming out during a market that hugely favors sellers. If you don’t want to pay what they’re asking, don’t. This isn’t some grand ethical issue or personal affront. You have no qualms about leasing a 2018 QX60… it too was way more expensive when it first came out.
I have a soft spot for Infinti, but I absolutely would not lease one right now. I’ve leased 3 Infiniti’s previously and I loved them all (Q60S, Q50S & Q50 RedSport). I drove those cars for absolute pennies on the dollar at the time. They do offer attractive styling with good performance. As many others have stated, dollar for dollar, Infiniti isn’t the sensible choice when paying full price. I.e. I can drive MANY other vehicles with an effective $8-900/mo payment.
Infiniti had/has some decent vehicles, but they’ve also been dropped off to the party a day late and a dollar short. It is sad to see and I hope the company is able to turn things around.
Thanks for misquoting me… “you don’t have a choice” was the quote from dealer regarding their markup. Ofcourse I have chosen to not buy from them. Dealer might not care because they have another customer willing to pay that price, but I can’t pay what it’s not worth.
I’m not against anyone making a profit, no one works/sells anything for free. I’m for fair pricing, and what’s going around in the market right now isn’t fair pricing. It’s mark up taking advantage of the situation.
Yes and no. Yes, some dealers are taking advantage of the times and charging crazy prices. On the other hand, I can understand being unwilling to offer discounts when inventory is difficult to come by. If a dealer has a vehicle on the lot to sell, and are fairly certain that someone will pay a higher price (if not full MSRP), why would the vehicle be sold to your for thousands less…? They could short-change themselves by selling at a discount because they’re uncertain when that lot spot will be filled again.
Honestly, is anyone really surprised by that quote? Even before I clicked the thread I assumed $600/mo with $4k DAS. Nothing surprises me in this market these days, I’m sure the new MDX was equally bad last year when it dropped.
We had two QX60s in a row, both at $350/mo which was the best possible SUV for the price. We are now in an Enclave for little higher ($371/mo) and my wife already misses the QX60. Obviously we’ll ride out the Enclave until the market settles, but the way the 2022 looks, I wouldn’t mind paying $400/mo for a base AWD model as long as the DAS is reasonable. Most likely not going to happen but I can always dream.
when these were being given away on LH 3 years ago for $207/month +++, people like you weren’t complaining. now when supply and demand swings the other way, you start crying foul. i actually can’t even fault infiniti dealers for charging over list for these things. they think they have a hot product and they’re going to charge for it. whether or not they get it is another story. these dealers have been sitting with crappy and dated inventory for years. this is their first chance to make a profit in forever. hell, if cars weren’t being given away by my competition, i promise you i’d be charging more, too.
