This one took several weeks as we had to wait for our color combo to be delivered from the port. It’s nice to be able to get something at a discount, even though it still feels overpriced. I decided to just do the one-pay for the max reduction on the money factor. Doing MSDs instead would have been $593 + tax.
when you google “pros and cons of one pay lease” they all mention something like "There is some risk that if you total the car early on in the lease you won’t get much back after your insurance company pays the lessor. "
Lexus refused to fund the original contract due to a mismatch of the mileage (10k/yr) and residual(7.5K/yr), so I just signed a re-write based on May numbers. Residuals tanked 2% since last month while the MF went down slightly. So they had to reduce the selling price to make the same one-pay numbers work.
I was able to reduce the term down to 36 months with only a slight bump up in the effective monthly. This will save me the CA registration for the 4th year while keeping the actual residual the same as the original contract. I am getting a refund for the difference.
