2021 X3 Loaner: $50215 MSRP, $480/month, $1100 DAS

Not a great deal when compared to my 2018 X1, but overall pleased with a quick and painless transaction especially given pending car shortage. Pre-negotiated ahead of time and waited for $1000 Charge Into Summer OL Code to take effect (today) before going in.

At signing, dealer even volunteered to pick up my last month’s payment of $340 (2018 X1) – was not expecting this, so offered some crypto guidance in return. MF is marked up (dealer would not budge, nor would they budge 3 years ago – plus a local broker said getting base MF on BMWs in Bay Area is next to impossible – hopefully others have had more success than me).

The broker is lying. You can get buy rate in Bay Area. I paid the markup because the deal was better at my dealer but had multiple dealer quotes with base mf.

Unless the last payment was waived by BMW, dealer likely did a lease buyout of your car and sold that for a nice profit.

Pick up your last months payment? You probably had many more thousands in equity than just a simple month of them covering your last payment. Have you been reading the forums prior to making this deal?? You could have sold that car to carvana, carmax etc and made a tidy profit on it.

You all are overestimating BMW lease equity. My 340i was -6k of equity, 330e was -10k of equity, got quotes from all the big players.

Not saying that the same applies here, but not every lease has equity at the end of term, even now.

And BMWs have (had?) quite elevated RVs…

You guys are right – I had not been following the forum closely. I just checked on CarMax and could have sold for ~2.5k profit. Will remember for next time. Thx for flagging.
