Heading into negotiating tomorrow for a 2021 Q5 P+ and looking for a % discount or selling price to shoot for. Dealer has already indicated he can go 8% which supposedly is inclusive of the 2k lease cash offer. Unfortunately I do live in Chicago which charges and additional 9% “use tax” on every monthly payment (which is why I included 20% as the tax in the calculator).
This. what @Siejammy said. 10% off pre-incentive (before rebates) is a good discount to aim for.
When I used to work for Audi (back in 2019. Unsure if anything has changed since) most of the vehicles, if you were an employee, you had automatically 15% off the MSRP. I believe the dealer can go up to 12% off pre-incentives, but any higher of a discount requires Proof of employment with Audi and I doubt they would discount the car that much to begin with.
Yes, pre-incentive means before any kind of rebate etc from the manufacturer. In your calculator you have the car listed at an MSRP of 50,954. Take 10% off of that which comes to $45,858.60(pre-incentive discount) and that’s how much I would aim for price wise. I doubt you’ll find any better than 10% off pre-incentive at this point in time with covid.
