2021 Audi Q5 P+ Deal Check

, ,

Team,

Heading into negotiating tomorrow for a 2021 Q5 P+ and looking for a % discount or selling price to shoot for. Dealer has already indicated he can go 8% which supposedly is inclusive of the 2k lease cash offer. Unfortunately I do live in Chicago which charges and additional 9% “use tax” on every monthly payment (which is why I included 20% as the tax in the calculator).

Any thoughts on what #'s to shoot for?

You have to separate those out as either taxed or untaxed incentives in the calculator

Why are gov fees zero?

Pretty sure the tax is wrong- it is not just a straight 20% on the monthly

10% discount pre incentive or this car makes almost no sense in terms of lease value.

Will fix that. Put 20% in there because sales tax is 9% per month and that # is taxed again by the city at 9%.

In what way? Already got 8% off.

This. what @Siejammy said. 10% off pre-incentive (before rebates) is a good discount to aim for.

When I used to work for Audi (back in 2019. Unsure if anything has changed since) most of the vehicles, if you were an employee, you had automatically 15% off the MSRP. I believe the dealer can go up to 12% off pre-incentives, but any higher of a discount requires Proof of employment with Audi and I doubt they would discount the car that much to begin with.

Thank you! When you say before rebates is that inclusive of the “lease cash” they have? Dealer said the discount off MSRP included that.

Correct… pre-incentive means pre-incentives.

Yes the lease cash is available to you at any dealer you go to, they are not doing you a favor @ 8% all in.

I can’t fathom why someone in Chicago would ever lease. That tax just financially ruins it.

Yes, pre-incentive means before any kind of rebate etc from the manufacturer. In your calculator you have the car listed at an MSRP of 50,954. Take 10% off of that which comes to $45,858.60(pre-incentive discount) and that’s how much I would aim for price wise. I doubt you’ll find any better than 10% off pre-incentive at this point in time with covid.

Totally agree. Plan is to get out of here in the next 10 months or so. Taxes and shootings get old…

Thanks so much! I will do my best. 10% off plus incentive would be a heck of a deal.

Thanks for your help.
