2020 Tiguan S how am I doing?

Have been working on a Tiguan S deal for a family member. Worked with 3 dealerships and this is the best I’ve been able to do. Pretty happy with these numbers but would appreciate some input! I am not sure exactly sure on the incentives/discounts but they come out to a selling price of 20000

Tiguan S 2020 base model
MRSP: 26245
Selling Price: 20000 (23.8% off)
Zero Down
Months: 36m
Miles/year: 12k
Residual: 49%
MF: 0.00001
Pretax monthly: 218
Taxed Monthly: 238
Drive Off: Around 730
Dealship covers acquisition fee

Seems really solid given today’s market. Roll everything in and do sign and drive considering the MF is so low

It’s a very barebones car. TBH I’d rather spend a bit more on a Honda CRV EX or even EXL if they can swing it.

If this is their max budget then IDK.

Thanks thats actually very helpful- this has also been holding me back. However, I haven’t been able to find anything near 218 for a CRV. Thinking about pushing them on the Tiguan SEL model.

You’d have to spend more to get a CRV EX but it’s worth it IMO

This is a good deal. With that kind of discount see what 24 mos look like. You will save having to replace tires and also get another new car in a shorter period.

I loved our base Tiggy. I was not wanting for more features. The German drive was way better than our Honda. Handling in particular was really great. Anemic powertrain but we didn’t buy it for stoplight races.

Of course we got some money back from Carvana because of good equity but with the Honda you’d likely get even more. Assuming buyouts are the same when you’re ready to dump it… that’s highly variable.

If the family member is happy w/ a base model, I think this looks very good.

Significant discount off the MSRP + low interest rate= looks like a solid deal, congrats!

Dealer discount is probably closer to 12.8% unless there are other incentives at play here (first responder, college, etc). If this is the 2wd Tiguan S the calculator probably looks more like this when putting the $2,875 dealer incentive in the right box. That’s still a pretty healthy dealer discount.

@ibastian

That looks like a great deal.

I’m actually starting to look for the same car for my niece in CA.

Is this in California? Once you’ve closed this, would you mind sharing the name of the dealership contact with me?

She’s got her heart set on this one, but her budget is in the low $200’s and this structure is the best pricing I’ve seen.

Thank you

The SE is the sweet spot as far as equipment for the price. Price one of those out, under $300 would be a win and cheaper than what you could get any competitor for with “leather”. I would imagine that someone would bump themselves pretty easily if you sat in the SE and S
