2020 Nissan Rogue SV AWD - 12K

Had the following offer from a dealer suggesting this is their best deal. Strikes me there should be a better Rogue SV deal out there. 12k, CT registration.

I believe the residual is 58% and MF .00102% (per Edmunds.com)

Wheel lock and Vin etch? Are these a real thing?

it’s not bad. these things will get cheaper very shortly though.

Not too familiar with Nissan - See if it is a dealer accessory or if it’s a factory option). If it’s a dealer accessory, ask them to take it off. Vin etch should be fairly easy to get off too (dealer add on). I usually just point to the vin etch line item and say I don’t want vin etching. Only time I got pushback was when buying a CPO Lexus that they already etched, so they had to “charge me” but just reduced the car price by the vin etch amount from our agreed on price. Otherwise, seems like an okay deal (I’d suggest the 0 down/36 months deal

Interesting. Any idea if “very shortly” is before the 6th?

@ctnyc good call.

no idea, but i hope so. nissans haven’t been moving since august.

The “AWD” on the Rogue is a joke. If you need AWD get something else.

We always decline the VIN etching and just write the VIN on each window with a Sharpie.

Last time I saw VIN tech was $199. $499 is getting up there.

And the have the gut to charge no only dealership fee of $699 (avg in CT) but also DMV documentation of $650 AND registration of $250??? That’s effing suck.
Even if discount is good their padding on the back end with fees is getting g outrageous even by CT fees standards.

Definitely not paying that BS VIN Etch fee.

DMV documentation of $650 is crazy…

Whenever I see crazy fees of VIN etching and Doc fees…I get automatically start reducing selling price by the same amount lol

I think $650 is acquisition fee

Doc fee is $649

You are correct.
They just cleverly hide dealership fee as DMV fee so that people won’t argue about it.
Yet, registration fee is the actual DMV fee.

This is the reason when I go to dealerships, I go with a final out the door pricing after doing all the possible research in my mind instead of trying to just get % off MSRP. Just so they can’t give me the BS of discounts but then mark-up with all these fees.

Also don’t forget how under powered it is.
