I know this isn’t great, particularly the $5300 down. Other than shifting that to a MSD and negotiating the purchase price down (how much should I target?), what should I be doing? It’s my first time doing this, so be gentle!

Well you shouldn’t put any money down other than maybe the taxes. The discount is terrible and could you get by on 7500mi/yr? I’m can’t comment on what discount is reasonable on these things because I’ve gotten berated before,(apparently anything in the double digits is unheard of), someone else will have to chime in on that. I’m also going to throw in the obligatory go look at an X5/BMW comment or even an Audi, because even an Audi would lease better than this.

$4k on a loaner is weak. Shoot for 6k off. New generally you won’t see more than 4/5k discount.
