Hello everyone. Well its been 3 years when I was last on this site looking for a lease deal. I can’t remember where to find the numbers to plug into the calculator. I’m interested in a 2020 Chevy Bolt Premier (only because it has all of the safety features I want) and I’m hoping to get a better price. I was a the dealer this morning and he has a Premier reduced from around $43,400.00 to $35,550.00 lease price. But he wants $3,000.00 down and payment of $381-$401 3 year 12,000 miles a year. I can do a new Tesla 3 for $372.00 with $4,500.00 through Tesla. Any advice very much appreciated. In in Asheville, NC. I made me select a tag so I chose ma. Don’t know what that means
That sounds like a deal at full sticker price with just the incentives being applied. For 36/12k the residual is 49% and the money factor is 00053. $6750 in lease cash, $1,500 for GM lease loyalty or $2,000 if you have conquest.
Try Woodruff Chevrolet in South Carolina, about 60 miles away from Asheville. They are advertising about $5,000 off MSRP before incentives on their remaining 2020 Bolt Premiers.

Start by asking for the RV, MF and incentives for your zip from Edmunds forums.
Ok I found a 2020 Bolt LT with both Driver Confidence Package I & II included sticker #39,750.00 for $23,364.00 with GM 0% financing up to 84 months purchase. I would lose $8,000.00 in incentives with a lease and the residual after 36 months would be $18,000.00 or so. Good deal to purchase?
Personally I believe that these are much better leases than purchases. A lease on a Premier from an aggressive dealer should be around the low 300s depending on whether you qualify for conquest or loyalty. And after three years you aren’t on the hook for depreciation or things no longer covered by the bumper to bumper warranty. Also, does that sales price stack with the zero APR financing? Sometimes you can’t have the purchase incentives and 0% APR, although they have been pretty aggressive with the Bolt. What car do you currently have? Did you reach out to the dealer in SC? If so, what did they say?
This should be doable on one of the 2020 Premiers at Woodruff if their advertised pricing is accurate and you qualify for conquest. If you have loyalty you would have to subtract 500 from the incentives. A couple of caveats: 1) I believe that I have the tax information correct for NC (3% of sales price) but you should verify how vehicles are taxed in your state. 2) I’m estimating DMV and Dealer doc fees, you would need to find out what those are from the dealer quoting you.
That’s an interesting price. May recommend purchase. Are there any state EV incentives? What is the tax rate?
I would take it after considering the taxes and fees. Which other new car has only 4k depreciation in the first year with around $500 or more in equivalent gas savings ? Perhaps a Tesla but he ain’t getting a model 3 for 23k
Well it lost over 20k in value from MSRP in a year. If you give credit for every incentive I was able to throw at it, then it depreciated about $5,600 dollars. But that includes the sales tax exemption, $5,000 NJ rebate, $6750 in lease cash, $1,500 for loyalty and another $1,500 in Buypower earnings.
Yes I talked to them. So with 0% financing I have to add $1,500.00 to the sales price. If I go with some kind of financing through GM I get the $1,500.00 back so we have to see how the numbers work. On a lease they said I would loose $8,000.00 on the sales price and with the residual being about $18,000.00 the purchase would be a better option. They don’t add any additional deal fees. One thing I have to clarify is my 2018 GMC Terrain has two more lease payments of $308.00 each which she said they would pay and take the car back. Which I guess would safe me $495.00 fee if I bought a car from someone other than GMC?
I would ask them to send you a detailed quote for both purchase and lease so you can compare both options.
Tesla would be nice. I could lease a 2021 Tesla 3 standard range rear wheel drive for $4,500.00 and $371.00 a month plus $1,200.00 delivery fee to Charlotte which is about 2.5 hours away. The price of the Tesla is $37,900.00.
Is that 4500 inclusive of all taxes and fees? If so then that $371 is really closer to $506 a month, possibly more if there are additional taxes and fees at signing/delivery.
I don’t think it includes $1,200.00 to delivery it to Charlotte. I’m rethinking Bolt because it’s a little small. Plus range anxiety with 4 adults in the car. Maybe a plug-in hybrid is a better choice. Thanks for your help.
Well are you in Charlotte or Asheville? Either way it’s less than a 2 hour drive. If you were to do something I’d just ground the existing lease at the dealership there if that’s your plan and then just drive the other one home. Or ask a friend or family member to take a trip. Or see if you can get a local dealer to come to their senses and match the best deal you can find. Paying $1,200 bucks to ship something like that so close to you is pretty nuts.
Asheville and you are right Charlotte is 2 hours away.
