2020 BMW 530i XDrive Courtesy Vehicle Lease Question

,

Checking out a courtesy car with +4K miles on it for lease. MSRP is $58K, they offered a 36/10 for $450/mo, $1,000 down. I can’t give anymore details because they removed the offer online but I’m checking the car out tomorrow.

Question 1 - The calculator lists an adjusted RV of 56.42% @ $32,995 at 36/10 term end ($0.25 per mile) for the excess miles, is a 2020 model even lower in value?

Question 2 - Is the warranty still covered by BMW for the my entire lease term. No sneaky warranty tricks after 30K miles??

Question 3 - I’m looking to hack the price down to $377 w/ $0 down & taxes rolled into the monthly (13.4 Leasehacker Score/ 24% off MSRP)
Is this possible with the position the dealer is in to unload this car, plus monthly incentives? I have a pristine 328iXdrive w/only 20K miles, due to be turned in by August. The trade in equity could help too.

Thanks for any solid answers.

24% preincentive and 377 sign and drive is unicorn status for this car.

You asked for their offer and they gave it to you, as @mllcb42 would say, you asked them what they want you to pay and you got it.

450/mo with 1000 down doesn’t look too bad on the surface, but how much is due at signing to get that payment along with the 1000 down. You are at an effective 478, if that means acq + taxes+ fees due at signing- you’re looking at effective 525+/mo.

That’s before you get to your trade in with positive equity that you may not be getting back from them.

Incorrect. I never said I asked for that price. That’s what they posted. Thanks for your reply

The general advice here is pick your target price and make them an offer before they have a chance to make you one.

When you get their price first, you end up having to chip away at their deal, rather than them deciding whether they want to meet you at yours or not.

It’s dealer mind games. Not being accusatory towards you, I’ve learned from here I’ll do all my calculations and make them an offer before they try to “run the numbers” for me.

I bet that they did not include in that number all taxes and fees. If this is true You are looking for additional 10% discount compering to their original offer. Not sure if this is realistic these days

Have you checked market value of this car? A quote from Carvana , vroom or ALGo will give an idea if there is any equity in it compering to actual payoff number.

Based on this and the very roundness of their numbers, I’m assuming this was an advertised special rather than an actual offer.

Those almost always have an asterisk on them that lists taxes, fees, etc extra, which in this case is thousands of dollars.

BMW offers a 4 year/50K miles warranty, so you should not have a problem re miles.

The 4 years “begins on the date of first retail sale or the date the vehicle is first placed into service as a sales demonstrator, Aftersales Mobility Program (AMP) Vehicle or company vehicle, whichever is earlier.” So you should make sure that this did not occur more than a year before you lease the car.

Not sure what this means. You have to input the values (RV percentage, miles, etc) for a 2020 530i into the calculator

I was able to lease a 2020 530i Xdrive loaner (MSRP $58,885) late last month (I had a slightly lower MF and same RV) for $450 a month with $1,076 DAS plus $3,500 in MSDs. I had OL code for $1,000 and got $1,500 conquest and lease cash. I would have done better with loyalty. Things have changed with incentives this month so your situation will likely vary, especially if you get loyalty. But it appears the MSD benefit is not as favorable now. Others have reported better deals on here, search for those details and good luck.

What was your pre-incentive discount? And taxes/DMV?

My pre-incentive discount was 17.6%. DAS was the $450 payment, $300 doc fee, $326 title/license. Illinois tax in my location is 7.25%.

Great reply. TY
Short story, it was amateur hour at the dealership. Their C team was working. No idea there was an appointment. No idea if the car was there. No ability to communicate. Total joke. They had the car, I drove it for 20 minutes, came back & wrote $450/mo, 35/10, $0 sign & drive, caught their bs MF, circled it, told the salesman to give it to the finance manager. Then I walked out.
They were asking $53K. MSRP was $61K, 2020 530iX, 4,400 miles on it.
Salesman did say my car had $3K in equity & they’ll roll it into payments.
Whatever. I moved on.

They must have been sad to see you go.

I’m sure they’ll find a sucker even in this economy & population flight out of NY
