I’m new to the leasing world and I want to see people’s opinions on whether or not the following is a good deal.
Im located in the Reno NV area - I’m looking at a 2019 Toyota RAV4 limited with the advanced technology package - includes the Sierra mountain pro pack, GAP insurance; as well as prepaid maintenance.
Is this worth it? Or should I just go with a Lexus (NX300h, specifically)
Any help is appreciated! Thank you.

Went to my Lexus dealer to see a Lexus NX300h 36 months, 12k miles:
MSRP: 44206
Savings + Rebate: 5139
Cap cost: 41817
Sales tax: 2191.92
Doc fee: 499.50
Title fee + other fees: 218.25
Total price: 44726.67
Not always the case…I just leased a 2019 Forester Limited, $34.6K MSRP, 36/12, zero drive off for $342/month plus tax…also includes two years of maintenance.
Might have been able to get another $20/month off if I had wanted to play hardball and really work at it, but I got lazy…plus I like the dealership and more importantly, my salesperson. No hard sell in finance either.
Yikes this is atrocious considering there is $2500 in trade equity applied AND $3000 DAS. Don’t put your trade equity towards the lease and certainly don’t put $3000 down. Get in touch with one of the BMW dealers on here in SoCal that will do out of state deals.
If you like the RAV4, you can get it a reasonable price. A Broker out east has a Limited listed for $385/month with just first month and taxes down. Not sure how close you can get out in Nevada but certainly better than that quote. Maybe look to hire a broker on the West Coast since you are new to leasing? Best $300-$400 you could spend.
On a completely side note, NEVER agree to any dealer addons like whatever the $399 line item is. Pure profit.
Hey Manku, not sure if you posted the details in the forum, but would u mind sharing the details for your lease? Also, how are you liking the forester so far?
I originally wanted the CRV (terrible lease offers right now, then the RAV4 (I didn’t enjoy the test drive at all), then the CX-5 (enjoyed the test drive but dealers aren’t working with me so far), so now I’m looking at the forester which looks like is leasing well.
You mentioned MSRP but what was the adj cap cost, MF (I’m in CA too), Res, any incentives? Also why 2 years maintenance? Is that like free oil changes, rotations, etc? Sorry if that’s a dumb question, looking for my first lease!
No idea what those were…all I focus on is the payment. I know that’s heresy in the hackr world, but the only thing that matters is my total cost over the term of the lease…how the dealership gets there is not my problem.
It’s worked for me the last 10 years…I’m aware of residual, mf and some incentives, and I’ll let the dealer know…but I focus on the payment…it’s what the dealers understand.
Most important thing is to see what others are paying for their leases for similar cars, IMHO. I’m not concerned with getting the “best” deal…in the top 10% is fine with me.
Last question, when making deals do u look for zero drive off (everything rolled into the payments)? I saw someone say on this site that’s not recommended because u will pay more interest…
