February and March have been tough compared to 2018 deals on JGC. Next best I could get off MSRP was 6%, most dealers not budging beyond 4-5% off MSRP and their fees were 400-700, unlike the stellar 350 I managed via broker.
$530/mo for $44k JGC? I couldn’t say how it compares for this month, but that is far from a good hacker deal and terrible for a JGC in general. Do you really need it this month? Is this through a broker?
I’m looking for the same exact Altitude and that’s a pretty bad deal. Even on the “bad” deals I’ve been offered, the monthly has been anywhere from $460 to $480 with nothing due at signing. But that was on 12k miles and there are better incentives in my area. I’m also seeing dealers unwilling to give decent discounts off MSRP despite the cars sitting on their lots for months.
I need a vehicle soon. May hold out for April fingers crossed. My above numbers came a from a local broker, yes, and three local dealerships told me deal seemed too low/good to be true and I should take it. Frustrated my zip code 08053 doesn’t offer deals I’ve seen posted on LH last 6 months. If any LH broker can do significantly better please contact me as I’m serious and researched kind of guy.
Holy hell, 503 for an altitude? That’s overland money. That’s crazy, definitely try another dealer out for sure. Although it seems like deals are really high this month.
Yikes, these are high too. I always remember the altitude leasing much worse than the other models. I see you are from 203, did you try Scap?
I always get to this point of confusion regarding some advice on this forum. Looking at his deal, what can another dealer offer him that is different besides a better discount than 8% off of MSRP which is not terrible to begin with? If they were able to remove the $1,035 DAS his monthly would go down about $28 to $475/mo. I still don’t think that would be a great deal.
For those of us that are trying to educate ourselves more on leasing, the MF here is non-negotiable, the residual is non-negotiable, taxes non-negotiable… beyond the dealer discount, you’re really hoping that it is a good month for incentives it seems… if i’m wrong, please explain why…
so my conclusion with this persons deal that they posted is that: it is not a great month, in his zip code, to lease a Grand Cherokee Altitude… is the advice to go to another dealer in a different zip code in hopes that the incentives are better there?
Pretty much. The OP can also try MSDs (although I’m not sure they allow them). But he can definitely get at least an additional 1 - 1.5 % off of MSRP.
From what I’ve gathered reading around, Altitudes don’t have a lot of incentives. If the looks don’t bother the OP he may be even better off by going with a Limited.
Certain dealers may be willing to discount deeper. Also they may be willing or able to use different banks for the lease that open up other alternatives to what Chrysler Capital is offering. Credit Unions, US Bank, Ally, etc. Also certain states offer different fee structures too. A deal in Pennsylvania can shave hundreds off in dealer fees, as long as you are getting a competitive discount there.
Thanks for the info. Regarding getting the MF/Residual from other banks, is this something you’d request from the dealer and hope they would be willing to do or is it possible to obtain that specific information from Ally, US Bank or a Credit Union by contacting them directly?
If this includes incentives, then the dealer discount is tiny. Try to get 8-10% before applying incentives. I got about 10% off my JGC last yr, but it looks like you’re getting a small dealer discount
this isn’t my lease quote. Regarding your comment though, take a look at the original lease. the 8% is the dealer discount. He listed the incentives separate.
Ya sorry I missed that. I do see the incentives listed, and assuming they were applied after the 8%.
Also, 2750 is weak incentives. Other times of the year have seen 4-5k+ in rebates, although on Laredo or Limited trims. But I’d say wait till April or better yet, Memorial Day/Independence Day season
Not sure if incentives are based on lesee zip or dealer location, but up in NY area, there’s $4000 lease incentives, and since OP is in NJ, may as well call up North Jersey dealers
OP here… 8% off MSRP is indeed before 2750 incentive which I was told is tied to my zip code even though vehicle would be coming from some North Jersey or NY lot. I don’t qualify for more…not coming from existing vehicle. Also curious how I might identify other lend lenders without taking dealers or broker word in this case. And to clarify, my broker is a zero cost storefront operation, first I’ve seen such thing…like them just not the deals.
You’re looking at $460/mo before tax+mf with that discount/incentives/residual. Not to mention their DAS numbers. 48% residual is tough but if you need 15k then its going to cost you. Agreed that you prob should wait for better incentives or try the limited as that seems to lease better.
You could get a better deal than this for sure. I’m a broker located in New York, and have leased several Cherokee 4X4s for much less. PM me if you’re still shopping and I’ll see what I can do for the specific build you’re looking for.
Back in August, I got a 2018 HIGH Altitude Grand Cherokee ($52k MSRP) for 39 months, 10k/year. $410/month. $4k out of pocket for taxes and fees (including new NY plates). I think the $52k MSRP was negotiated down to like $40k after rebates, incentives, etc…
Jeep dealers by me think that their cars/trucks/suvs are made of gold… I think the original deal posted is horrible, but still better than what I can get near me. NOT that I would do it.
