2019 BMW i3 REX $51.5K MSRP, 24/10k, 149/mo, $85 DAS + 7 MSDs ($1050), 0.244% of MSRP

“A demonstrator car (or demo ) is a new car that has been driven by the dealership’s salesmen, managers or executives but has never been registered with the state.”

Don’t mix the 2…they are not the same when it comes to state rebates.

Do you have a link to support this?

“Vehicles previously used as dealership floor models and test drive vehicles (demo vehicles) are eligible for the rebate only if the vehicles have not been previously registered.”

Was this for a loaner or a new one?
From what I have seen 12% on a loaner is low, 12% on a new one is pretty good.
If you are in CA and qualify for CVRP the best option is to go for a new one and a 30 month lease.

Yeap, that’s precisely the reason I went for a loaner car and 24mo.

Thanks!
I think there is a good chance it will be beaten before the end of the month (or if the 10.5K incentive carry on to October). 16% on a loaner is best I could get from dealers here, but there is about a dozen i3 loaners in NorCal and I only saw 2 of them sold in September, we are already half way through the month I think dealers might more motivated to go beyond 16%, towards the end of the month if there is still a bunch of loaners left.

nice deal, I’m assuming yours has a lot more than most of these i3s? I could have sworn I saw lower monthly but that’s a crazy rebate + discount combo. congrats!

edit: nvm got trolled hard by this “hypothetical deal”

@MConte05 hi, according to them the residual is at 58% for a 36 month/10k miles with $10500 rebate in it, MF (0.00168) and 0.00133 with MSD. I use the calculator here which gave me a total different number than what they offered me (below).

30/10 - $10500 rebate, $1800 cash due / $264 per month, $2800 cash due / $227 per month, $3800 cash due / $191 per month

36/10 - $10500 rebate, $1800 cash due / $283 per month, $2800 cash due / $252 per month, $3800 cash due / $222 per month

At this point I dont know how to get their number match with the calculator i used here.

@EKX this is a new one, so i was happy with the 12% off MSRP, but their final lease number doesnt make sense and it makes it not as good deal as yours.

Why is your residual so high?

What is the MSRP on your i3 ? Is it on the higher end?

Residual is set by BMW based on the lease terms.
On an i3 for 24/10 it is 64%

MSRP=$49645, selling price=$43687, tax=$4211.74, doc fee=$85, smog=$20, tag/reg fee=$521, e filing=$30, flat add/county fee=$11. Balance due=$48565.74

Interesting. When I played with the lease calculator, the residual was 62% for 24 months.

The calculator isn’t going to give the correct residuals. Those come directly from BMW FS.

This is something we don’t see enough of when MSDs are being employed…….careful consideration of the use of CCR to finagle the MSDs optimally. I always try and have the payment be within a few bucks of the next MSD tier for this reason. Sometimes it doesn’t work out however (i.e. too much $ down is required when the payment is naturally falling towards the middle of the MSD tier range), which implies trading CCR for MSD $). My current i3 is an example. To save $350 in MSD I would have needed to put down something like $250…so not worth it. In this case…$85 to offset $350 is wise IMO.

And dang all you CA guys with your post sale rebates!!!

Wanna pay more for your electricity? Come on over!

The fast DC charger offered by my building in Hayward is $0.31/kwh…

Not great

I should not complain…i got free charging at work, my wife gets it for 8c at hers and we can also charge at home of our pv. Our energy costs could not be lower.

I mean if you live in a fairly efficient apartment or house then you’re not really paying that much. My family in Florida pays more for their electricity than I do here in the OC.
