Has anyone done any hacking with the T8s? With A-plan and current incentives plus the $5002 federal plug in tax credit, it looks like pricing gets pretty close to an equivalent T6. So the residuals kill any decent deal?
I tried. Because of residuals, higher MF (.00110) and inability to find lower MSRP cars (most are $77k plus Inscriptions), you cannot get close to the T6.
I’ve thought about ordering a stripped down one and seeing what happens, but doubt they would discount it the 10-12% I would need it. The MF and excess packages spoil it. Did Volvo bump up residuals on the T8 the same way they did on T5 and T6 in Jan/Feb?
So if I take the closest T8 Inscription to me - 73,675 at 12% off, and I had max incentives (6750 + 5002 + 3000 + 500 loyalty and 10 Msds, I am at sub 400 in my low tax state). Challenge is my incentives are only 4750 and the low price vehicle is in black, which I don’t want.
Are you using January numbers?
Yes, but I don’t think they changed, at least they didn’t on the T6 trims. I’m also including max incentives which don’t exist in the southern region.
So a T8 S90 @375 Or a BMW I3 at 200…
Sub 400 for a T8? That’s amazing…
Don’t forget the $1500 tax credit here in CA…
I need to get an A-plan pin stat. ugh.
I’ll take a T8 right now for 500(without A plan), but it doesn’t exist. If it does, I’ll pay that guy who finds it $500. Hell, find me a T6 for sub 450 with 0 out of pocket and I’d do the same. 12k per year btw.
I really wanted one, but couldn’t get anywhere close to $400 even with west coast incentives. I think $425 would be possible on the $73k Inscription, but dealers seem to know the lower MSRP T8s are easier to sell.
Exactly, I’m sure the dealer knows they have the cheapest T8 with in 200 miles so would be reluctant to discount.
That was my experience. There were only a couple on the west coast.
$68K MSRP
Marked as Demo/Loaner, probably just punched with a couple of hundreds miles on it.
Good find. That’s my old car, just with a Plug. The MF is crap on the T8 MOM. Its a loaner, I wonder if they would accept A-plan.
No A-Plan on demos unfortunately.
They may, they don’t consider low miles punched car as an actual loaner/demo.
Here is the calc for me if they accept A-plan because it is low mileage:
$433/mth with 10 MSDs
And if I lived in a higher incentive area (of course tax structure would be different): $387 with 10 MSDs
I feel like the American public, gotten too conditioned to low interest rates, any MF above 0.00100 seems usurious. If only Volvo’s MSD plan were like Infiniti or Lexus where you get a greater reduction for your deposit…
Interesting that Don Beyer’s T8 MOM didn’t show up on my cars.com search but their T8 INSC did.
Because Insc is new, MOM is listed as demo/loaner.
