I’ve been to a couple dealers and it seems they are pretty low on Civic EXs. I assume that will make it tough to get a really good lease deal. So far, I’ve been able to get something like this:
36/12K
0 down, $268/month (includes tax). I am trading in an excellent 2015 EX with 18K miles that has some equity
Amt due: $571 (includes 1st month payment and not exactly sure what else)
Sales price: 19,996
Residual: 57%
I don’t know the MF for sure, but I think it was something like .0024
Sorry, lacking some specifics – Is this a good deal considering it seems like there are not many Civics around? I assume these dealers have the upper hand in that case.
UPDATE: I ended up at another dealer getting $260 per month with just first payment due at signing for my EX (and trading in my '15 EX). They said there are only 4 white with black interior in all of Ohio, so hopefully I get the color I want. I can live with this outcome. Just glad to be done.
You should probably get the MSRP of the Civic and the amount of equity you have in your Civic lease turn-in (I’m presuming it is a lease turn-in). It doesn’t sound like a very good deal though and Civic doesn’t lease well to begin with
Was told the retail price is $22,130 and the “trade equity” is about $900. Yes, I have heard many times that Civic does not lease well. I just wonder if I have any leverage on getting a better deal if the inventory is so low. Should I consider extending my current lease until 2019 comes out?
If it makes a difference what state I’m in…it’s Ohio.
If you truly like the Civic it probably makes more sense to just buy one considering how high the MF is (ask on Edmunds to ensure you are getting the base rate). You likely won’t have more leverage if you wait and will only get more constrained with color choice.
Have you actually looked online to determine that inventory is low? I would check that first before worrying about supply.
.0024 x 2400 = 5.76% interest. That’s a killer!
If you are stuck on the Honda, I would gather up “ALL” the details on the lease, and ask for help here to see what you can do to possibly improve on the deal.
